try setting it to a b signal... a lot more stable and a li'l farther.
G signal is better btw. But i agree about changing channel. Most likely its your driver that is wrong. Or your internel wifi reciever is just not good for windows 7, specially that windows 7 is still Release Candidate. Good luck!

based on my experience as a former linksys tech support and former earthlink level3 support and my experience as a ddwrt user.. hands on and on the phone.. wireless b is more stable.. configured senao, netgear, dlink, edimax and linksys wireless routers.. wireless b is more stable running at 2.4ghz @11mbps max..

    add lang ko diri...

Ive experienced something like this but worse. I had a netgear nga wireless N router WPN834. It was very picky with regards to devices it would allow to connect to it. It doesnt seem to want to send data and assign an ip to certain devices.... Its now being used as a switch nalang.

I also noticed its better to use the same brand router and wifi receiver.. connection is established quicker and bandwidth is higher given thesame distance.

did you do a mac clone??
experienced once in a edimax dual wan router.. did a mac clone and the pc that has the same clone.. can get ip but unable to connect...

it depends on the internet connection/modem that your netgear is connected to...

need to have more information about the setup

problem solved! the CPU that sits around 2 feet from the router causes interference. If i shut it down, my speed goes to 54mbps (yes i metered it), and if i turn it on, it goes down. but what i dont know is why only my laptop is affected... the other PCs connections dont slow down...
