recently, we had a secret evaluation of our website projects and this feedback is what we got- ->cant access site without entering "www" how to get around this?
(for ex. www.istorya.net & istorya.net will display the website  :mrgreen:///
www.globe.com.ph will display but globe.com.ph (page cannot be displayed)-->sample lang ni nga website ha))

    thanks in advance.

www is never needed. Most websites just keep it for legacy purposes. If you knew how servers worked, you'd know that www is merely an entry in DNS or the webserver configuration. www.domain can be pointed anywhere. www can also be replaced. For example ... http://www.linux-ph.org can also be accessed through http://linux.ribbed.us as well as http://linux-ph.org. http://www.linux-ph.org only exists because most people seem to want to put www in front of every domain.

I also observed that the site contain .com.ph, .co.jp, .co.uk, and others are the one which you can't access without specifying www. That's what I've observed...

firefox will automatically insert "http://www" on the address you type [in case there is none]

.com.ph, .co.jp, etc, sites can as easily be set up to not use www. If you type in bla.com into Firefox, it only inserts "http://www." if http://bla.com does not exist. It also tries different common TLDs.

It don't think it ever did. Something about protecting minors. I personally think it would be easier to protect minors if all adult sites were on .xxx.

There are also non-standard TLD's being sold by New.Net, a world renown spyware outfit..
