Dumpit fires gun, causes commotion among foreigners yesterday.
He was involved in another altercation, this time involving students from South Korea and Japan who are in Cebu to study the English language.
The foreigners are staying at the former Harbor View Hotel, which is now the Cebu Pacific International Language Services School (CPILS)
An American national, who teaches at the school, came to the Sun.Star Cebu office yesterday afternoon to complain that Dumpit harassed and threatened 15 of his students, who drinking past 8 p.m. in a store on F. Villa St., about 60 meters from CPILS.
Plastic tables and chairs were placed by the store owner almost in the middle of the road for people who would buy food and drinks.
Dumpit arrived, driving a multicab. He reportedly rammed one of the plastic tables and fired two shots in the air with a handgun when the foreign students approached him.
Dumpit admitted firing shots in the air because one of the Koreans tried to attack him.
“I told them that this is the Philippines and they should follow our laws here. They were drinking in the middle of the street, which is a violation of a city ordinance.”
He said he rammed one of the plastic tables because it blocked the road . He said he later advised the store owner to make sure roads are free of obstruction.
“They can’t block the road. Foreigners should also respect our laws,” he said.
