get the entry level dslr model of the brand that fits you.. since canon fits me, i chose a 1000D since it was on sale in Australia when i bought it...

Buy the BEST you can AFFORD. If you can afford a Nikon D3x or a Canon 5D Mark II or Canon 1D Mark III etc... get those... newbie or not, get the best possible.
Mao ni ako na learn sa ako experience... usik kwarta ug upgrade...
