May unta ug Comp. Eng'g imong course at least naa kay overview sa networking gamay. Anyways, you can do self-study or enroll a short term course like CCNA. Unsay advantage sa programming to networking? More or less 10% ra ang advantage since networking is more on commands, concepts, methodologies, design and set-up. Unless siguro if you are into Socket Programming.

advantage? you've got a wider scope. both programming and networking are already broad fields in their own right and if you can do or better yet, good at both, dako na kaayo nang edge nimo. daghan kaayo ka ug mapilian nga opportunities.

disadvantage? you'll be a jack of all trades but master of none. both programming and networking are very deep fields and you have to be updated from time to time, you know, technology changes just as the time is ticking. considering the fact that many people are into either programming or networking, chances are they'll be better in a specific field. i'm not saying that it's impossible but it would take much effort to juggle both.

my suggestion would be, take it one at a time. it's actually way better to be good at both but don't rush it. tiwasa sa ang usa before doing the other one.

Unsa na diay ka nga year? If you really want to pursue networking or network security, go for Comp.Eng'g Major in Networking or Major in Computer Networks. Maayo na kay hands-on ka then taas2x ug hours ma spend sa lab. Advantage pud kay part sa course ang CCNA Modules nya exam nalang para ma certified.
