Not to mention PENTAX is the only dslr on the market that offers weather resistance (splash, rain, mud, sand, temperature extremes)...

canon 1D came out in 2001 and it was already weather sealed...canon eos 1Ds,1DmkII, 1Ds mkII, 1DmkIIn,1Ds mkIII and 1D mkIII are all weather sealed as well, and if im not mistaken they are also DSLR of which the last two are being sold today...

Pentax is actually like Bugatti Veryon in cameras. It may not have the same popularity with Canon and Nikon but it sure can beat them all in a given specific price range. It has better picture quality. surprisingly, even better than nikon d300 as tested in the labs of popphoto.com. in Canon its IS, in Nikon is VR, but in pentax its SR. SR system is built in into the body system. So even if your pentax lens is an old model from the 60s or 80s it will still mount to your new pentax body (like the K20D) and still it will have SR (VR for nikon) feature in action. there are more to speak....

watch out for the coming new Pentax DSLR in magnesium alloy body. weather sealed. HD video. Pentax MEPZ said the new one will cost not less than Php115,000.

I like the Penatx K20D alot.. Especially its 74 special seals that give it protection from weather and dust... If this brand came out a bit earlier in Cebu, I would have wanted to purchase the K200D. hehe

and is this nikon dslr available commercially and is it available here? what we are talking about is a commercially available dslr, not a custom built one. which a regular ordinary bloke can get to purchase from any camera stores..

there's a lotta dslr cameras that's water-proof or even bomb-proof, but that is not available for everyone to purchase. as most are custom-built or project specified..

i mean ang pentax k20d bah.. if it came out earlier when i bought my 1000D, i would have wanted to get that instead.. i didn't say na ang pentax nag.una anang weather proof...
