Roach names possible Pacman foes in Manila

LOS ANGELES, California -- Trainer Freddie Roach yesterday bared they were in the process of selecting an opponent for Manny Pacquiao in a projected fight in Manila.

“I’ll see you soon, because I believe we will be fighting in Manila because HBO wants to come to Manila,” Roach told the Inquirer.

Sounding certain, Roach, appearing calm and refreshed in a pink T-shirt, said the Manila fight would be held outdoors and they hope to be in Manila “before the end of April, before the rainy season.”

So who are the possible opponents?

“(Marco Antonio) Barrera, if he wants, but I don’t think Barrera will go to Manila,” Roach said.

He continued: “It should be somebody in the Top 10. Carlos Hernandez, he wants to fight Manny because he thinks he beat his brother (Bobby). (Oscar) Larios, he says he can beat Manny. Wayne McCollough, even Manuel Marquez, if he wants to
come.”

I don't think Manny will fight a marquee boxer in Manila kay di kaaford mga pinoy sa ticket prices. Unless naay mu angkon sa mga tickets like SMART, PLDT, or San miguel. Mahal kaayo na ang ticket kay dollars gud na ang bayad sa ila.
