even if we are to find the wormholes that are involved, how are you gonna travel through it? can we make something that can withstand the ridiculous gravitational forces of black holes and the other problem is how to open up the singularity of the black hole to make a "tunnel" to the other side and then sustain that "tunnel" throughout the rest of the journey?

btw..im under the impression that wormholes are just basically black holes(entrance) and white holes(exit) connected together although white holes are only theoretical and if wormhole does exist, it will only do so for a small amount of time given the unstable nature of black holes..

i think iv read somwhere in the net that travelling thru a black hole is possible. one only needs to put exotic energy or negative energy at the throat of the wormhole. but one must make a spaceship that can travel near the speed of light or even faster to escape the singularity.

even if one can exit a black hole thru its "wormhole" nobody is yet sure that the other side is a parallel universe or another universe with different physical constants. like a stronger gravitational force etc.
but i believe the latter is true since string theory suggests that the multiverse/megaverse has lots of universes which is different from ours. thereby travelling thru a black hole as a time machine an unlikely scenario.
one can only make black holes as a time machine by using gravity to slow down time thus like the twins paradox.

time travel is cool. but the question is are we traveling through time or dimensions? there is an idea than in every possibile actions we do in a certain time opens up a series of different worlds. For example, in a span of three seconds you have over a million or plus of possible things to do in that span of time, like hop, close your eyes, jump, sit, stretch etc... you cant choose all of them at the same time, each possible action is a world in its own, once you choose an action, you choose a world, all other discarded possible actions may not exist in our world, but each possible actions discarded becomes a world of its own. so when i have finally chosen to type this, and i have discarded the other possible actions of watching tv, reading a book, jumping, there are other thechild(s) doing those other alternatives in different parallel worlds. i forgot the theory, its weird, more like fiction than real theoretical science, it is close with the mutliverses theory, but i cant really pinpoint. Once we do time travel, the question is are we traveling in our dimension or another dimension? is it really the past? or is the present, is it really us in the past using our present time as reference or is something else? general relativity no point of reference. and again its weird, hey but its cool! questions like this makes the "time travel" a misnomer.
but hey, im not physics student, im only upto empty speculations. but it would really be cool to travel back and mess up the primordial soup.

I think this relates to string theory. String theory makes it possible to have multiple & parallel universes which co-exist. It's explained fully in the book Elegant Universe. A good read.

ABout time travel, I don't think it is possible. Maybe in the future, we can travel to different dimensions or parallel dimensions at its "present" time, but I don't think going back in time or going to the future is possible.

physicists dont use the term time travel but instead use the words like time loops or closed timelike curves [ctc,s].

elementary particles like the electron travel back in time at the sub atomic world "regularly".

if they can do it. we can do it.

if we can manipulate space in the future then we might as well manipulate time.

it would be a waste of space if we,re all alone in the universe.

it would be a waste of time if we cant travel back in time.

did anybody considered the time dilation equation(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_dilation)? As we approach speed of light, time gets slower and slower for the traveler with respect to the person not traveling that speed. When we are at the speed of light, the equations becomes infinite (meaning time is now infinite or 1/0?). And beyond the speed of light, time will be imaginary (square root of a negative number)? Do you think if we go beyond the speed of light that we are now actually reversing time?

To travel in time is to reproduce all conditions for that time.
For example if you want to travel back to the stone age-- you have to duplicate that condition.
How would anybody do that.

The universe is getting hotter.
So it is expected that in the next year, the universe is a bit hotter.
If you travel to the future you have to heat up the universe first.

Can we do that?

That is why I think time travel is impossible.

I have travelled way back I was 5 years younger. I've seen many things i can't explain. I heard a voice from heaven telling me that the "church is in our *****" I always forgot where I come before everytime I walk away from home. This island has been manipulated by not seen light particle not seen by people that signals the neighbooring galaxy. Every quarter of a year felt like younger or even so. If we could invent something to harness it and get it in timing momentum, we could actually saw and predict the future. Somehow if we could pass through by openong our "temple". then earth above the skys, prediction is true. Welcome to the future.
