@marvs: for me i would go for the asus 1000HE:

    1. battery life is amazing
    2. easily upgradable (i think most of the netbooks)
    3. the design is one of the best especially the chicklet keys
    4. you can run it with mac OSX if you want to with a faster processor which is intel atom n280 1.66Ghz compared to the intel atom n270 1.6Ghz of over netbooks

    you can run mac osx?

    what are chicklet keys?

  3. #163
there is no cebu netbooks groups.

  4. #164
yes you can even dual boot it using windows xp and osx... chicklet keyboard is the same with the macbooks... so that you won't hit the wrong keys when typing and its 92% the size of a standard keyboard so it's good for those with big fingers

if the asus eeepc fully supports mac osx, i guess thats what i should get... but these links say that audio and lan do not work...

and by the way i intend to dual boot windows 7 and OSX. I dont think i want XP because its not my main machine anyway, and windows 7 already proved to me that its better than XP in most cases, including the fact that it beats xp in all benchmarks.

i'm not sure with the lan and audio not working with osx but i saw a clip in youtube where his 1000HE was running with windows 7 and it really works great but unfortunately windows 7 is still in it's beta version so it would be great if they would release the windows 7 final version but still 1000HE work great with windows 7 running

nope. windows 7 release candidate is now available. so its good enough for release, meaning its reliable. but in case there still is a flaw somewhere, i wont mind coz its not my main machine anyway.

im going to do research about osx on the eeepc. if i find that it is feasible, i might end up with the eeepc.

by the way, what kinds of eeepc are there? i want the 10 inch kind. 160gig/2gb and if theres one with wireless N...

Yeah. I think it's better you research more on the compatibility of OSX with the eee pc. 1000HE is the latest release here in Cebu together with S101 but S101 is more expensive for a netbook while 1000HE is around 24K at thinking tools SM and Ayala... specs for the 1000HE is intel atom n280 1ghz processor, 160Gb HDD + 10Gb asus storage, 1Gb RAM (upgradable to 2Gb), 10" screen, 9hours battery life (which i think is only 7-8hours) and it's wifi b/g and draft N or as what you said wireless N..

it would be great if theres wireless N. I read before there's this new eeepc 1000 series that looks good. looks like a macbook air in a way. is it available here in cebu na?

how much is the s101? and what makes it different from the 1000he?

the 1000HE is the one that looks like a macbook air and it's available in thinking tools i'm not sure with the other shops. don't be confuse because there's the 1000H, 1000HA and 1000HE of the 3 1000HE is the best (which looks like a macbook) and with wireless N already

    i think s101 is around 31K while 1000HE is 23K...
