sir post your feedback about your 1000HE... planning to buy this june... how does it run when you open multiple applications (mozilla, winamp, ym, etc)? becuase i tried using the aspire one although the processor was atom n270 and the 1000HE has the n280, does it have a lag time?
ASUS' Eee PC 1002HAE: a faster 1002HA dressed in EluminumWhen you think Eee PC, or netbooks in general, the usual image that comes to mind is thick slab of white plastic. That's certainly true of the Eee PC 1002HA. However, drop the letter "E" into the model number and you've got ASUS' new Eee PC 1002HAE dressed in a swank aluminum skin and 1.6GHz N280 processor within. While the rest of the specs remain unchanged -- 802.11b/g/n, 1GB of memory and 160GB disk, 1.3 megapixel webcam, memory card slot, 3.8-hour Li-Polymer battery, and 10-inch 1,024 x 600 pixel LED backlit display -- the new shell drops the weight from 1.45kg to 1.2kg for a savings of about half a pound. At the moment, this model is either Japanese-only or at least a Japanese-first (unusual for ASUS) with a May 16th launch for the tax inclusive price of ¥49,800 (about $506).

hello. im looking into buying a netbook sometime soon. i'm looking for one that's available at 0% interest sa stores. ill go pa tomorrow to SM so i can canvas and get a list of which netbooks are available at 0% interest.
can you suggest which one i should look into?
I want a netbook that has at least 160gig HDD, 2GB RAM. If there were a netbook with a more powerful processor than an intel atom, it would be even better. and if theres anything better than the intel GMA950, then it would even be better. AND i think i want it to be able to run Mac OSX (Unless you can convince me otherwise)
P25k tops.
I've tried the following so far:
Asus Eeepc 1000HE
-i tried it for a few days, the battery is amazing. lasts up to 7 hours. sound isnt bad, it has dolby soundroom. It was responsive even if it only had 1GB ram. The touchpad is great. and the keyboard isn't bad. But i just dont like its design with its huge hinges.
HP Mininote. (i forgot what kind)
-i tried it for a few days also. i like its build. very solid and sturdy. looks good. nice reflective screen. the keyboard is great. it has huge keys. I dont remember the sound quality though...
MSI Wind
-i borrowed it for a few weeks to experiment with (i have it until now). What I like about this is that it could run Mac OSX! This is what's convincing me to get an MSI Wind. It's a big plus if i have Mac OSX on dual boot! I can use iMovie and Keynote. It's just as responsive as other netbooks. What i dont like about it is it's build quality. not that it broke already but it feels really cheap... when the lid is open, it feels like its going to topple on its lid side. Its touchpad is small!!! its so annoying to browse the net with a very small touchpad. and its not only small but its quite unpredictable and hard to use. its not a synaptics touch pad i think. i would have to use an USB mouse all the time. And the sound! everytime i hear sounds coming out of this thing, i feel bad. it sounds so so puny and flat. comparing it to those laptops with altec lansing speakers, you will feel bad with this one! but these negatives seem to be offset by the fact that it can run Mac OSX! Are there any more netbooks out there that could run Mac OSX also?
If not, i think i would end up with an MSI Wind and X-mini speakers and some nice high end portable mouse.... but i'm sure going to envy those nice touchpads and speakers...
by the way, i'm going to use this netbook for school. and i'm a tech savvy guy so yeah. I'm going to use it to take notes so the keyboard must not be bad. i'd like a nice touchpad so that theres no need for a mouse especially for those times that i cant use one. and i'm a guy who likes his music clear. so i dont think i could live with puny sounding speakers. i wish theres a netbook with altec lansing speakers...
sorry for my long post, but im in a dilemma whether which one i should get... theres just so much choices!
ill post tomorrow whether which ones are available on installment.
thanks for reading.
