    Increasing from 6-12k: Do you know the exact cost of doing such surverys? Manpower involved, overhead expences, transportation expences etc..? ALso the rates of which the awarding ceromony suppliers, venue, food and bev, etc? If you want get the exact costs of this then you will then be able to justify if it is little or too much.

    I and st@rr will respect your opinion on this subject matter and we rest our case. For us, this comment:

    Regardless, the money making part is not the main concern. It is the methods they use (Ask payment from company A, if refused, threaten to go to company A's competitor) ... call it business ethics if you will.
    will just not suffice, get the name of the person who called your friend up, report it to the establishment and any other place with authority to expedite an investigation. That person who couldve called you could have been a "erroneous employee" or just a bad egg in the company. Again, inncocent until proven guilty, so far no other company who has recieved an award has step out of his way to prove these guys wrong, if you think you have hard evidence then go after them and save all these people you thnk they are scamming, including us

    Again, as to our point of view, if you think you dont desrver the award or if you think that it is a scandal, dont take it. If you have a grudge against them for whatever reason, then do something about it, make a stand and fight for what you believe in, you will be doing your country a favor

    @vip: We also have presented our evidences in support of our views and they are not just a "friend's word". We have been to their awarding ceremonies, etc... We have seen how these companies work... like the saying goes "to see is to believe."

    We know that you question them because of the subsidy fee they ask from the awardees. Why don't you just think of it as a marketing expense? You will be using their names for your advertising and everything and you will benefit from it also. There's a cost for using it. You gain from them, they gain from you.

    As for the increased payment, maybe they have their reasons. I just didn't bother to ask them why. Let's not just judge them quickly.

    I asked a sample survey sheet from National Product Quality, another award-giving body, and they were able to supply me one. If you want to have a look, just let me know.

    You have your views and we have ours. Just present hard facts on your accusation.

    Anyway, I saw yesterday a 1 whole page advertisement by a company for winning the National Shopper's Choice awards... I just think vip that you are being judgemental. People reading this thread would now think that the company is misleading their customers or they don't deserve the award since no survey has been presented to you. So please, present proof of their illegality before you continue... you're feeding these readers' minds with unsure information.

    And as what we've said, we're not defending these companies. It is just unfair to accuse them. But if ever you do find some proof of their illegitimacy and bad business ethics, then we will be with you on this. You can have our word on that vip.

    @droid: It's quite amusing reading it. hahaha.

    Anyway, I too didn't notice about the category thing since our award was best surplus trucks and engine dealer, which a lot of companies here in cebu fall under.

    who's going to pay for it? How about all the candidates who were nominated for in a specific category? That's what they usually do. The cost is spread around the candidates and the award winners won't have to cough up as much. So I guess the question is did they have nominees for a specific category? I seriously doubt it.


    When you look at the Marketing Excellence awards for example, do they have surveys? where did they conduct these surveys? to whom? what's the criteria for marketing excellence? The 5 ps? Creative Advertising? the returns you get from your marketing efforts?

    You're right about one thing though, you're going to need to invite a few officials to make it look legit (or not). Perception is reality after all. Like having your pic with this government official or that influential business person.



    If you ask me the awards are a lot like cotton candy...it looks good....until you know it's just sugar, food coloring and some hot air

    P.S. Hopefully I'll receive one of those cute little awards that says Best Pork Slaughterhouse in Lorega San Miguel Cebu City......hopefully customers will start piling up by then and I can start my own awards business. I can invite a few officials and start giving awards for operational, financial and strategy excellence to the people who are willing to pay my price. Yup there's really nothing wrong with it. Who gives a *bleep* if the customers are duped as long as I and my business partner profit from it right?

    BOGUS!

    It's good that someone brought this up. The company employs a number of sales executives who markets their awards to any company willing to pay them. It is headed by Manjo Oyson, the same guy who gave us the MoneySaver privelege card/magazine in the mid 90s where thousands of customers nationwide complained having not received their subscriptions when the firm suddenly closed down. A couple of years back, Mr Oyson also came up with Essence privelege card which is no longer honored now by many of its supposed to be partner establishments. Vip, I hope you will continue to warn the consuming public of this.

    I work for a company that paid for a payroll system developed by a recipient of a similar award. We always have a problem with the system. To be fair, it does send technical support people to fix the problem. But come next payroll period, another problem, another technical support person. I'm not sure if we're paying on an on-call basis or annually for maintenance.

    So, yeah, prompt service may be good but a high-quality product? Sorry no. I don't know the criteria for the award this company received but as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't deserve it. Just imagine buying a cheap cellphone. Sure you can bring it to the shop manufacturer's or its authorized repair center and you can get it repaired in an hour but what if you bring it twice a month for a year until God knows when. I don't want to mention this company because maybe our situation is the exemption not the rule but like I said, kaming mga empleyado ang nag-sa-suffer. I just wish our company hurries up and buys a new payroll system from a more competent company.

    i think its bogus to, because it seems that all network marketing companies have these awards, its such a sham, it doesnt feel important anymore, ive seen alot of small companies show off these awards also from friends, and i thought i was the only one. proof enough is that so many people can be awarded, and i think they should release results and maybe let the general public vote. watch ouT!

    i also recieved a fax that i was chosen best____________ & there is 7T payment for the award. i ask them why they choose me for that award, infact my competitor is very big compare to me. they said ako daw gi una if i decline the award they wil go to my competitor , then i said to them if i will recieved the award, how about nxt year? what hapen ? they said if you are already awardee , you are given 1st priority for next year award . i told them even there is another company w/c is better from our company you still give it to me that award! . Yes daw......Â* so.... mura business nah nila..... i decline it....... additional nah sa ato " Gasto " mga tol ...
