if you read articles/blogs from photographers who use both systems (nikon and canon) they would tell you pros and cons of each system and how they would use them depending on the situation (zach arias, annie leibovitz) some would go for the ergonomics, functions, or plainly personal decision...

i don't like it how most of the time people especially here locally are ignorant about nikon dslrs, it's like canon is the only brand there is for dslrs and nikon comes out not even second-rate sometimes at least but just as some random not-so-expensive-as-a-canon black camera.. yay!

sakto ang uban nga naa ra sa fotografer, kung mahalon ang imo camera pero bulay-ug ka wala lang gihapon nindot nga mga hulagway nga resulta.

Can someone enlighten me with my inquiry about Canon's 500D and Nikon's D90. Yup, it should be Nikon's D5000, but Im considering these two dslrs after reading reviews, and the net reviews are almost 90% bias to the company that sponsors their websites, so, which is which, Canon or Nikon! And yup, if you may ask, I dont have a collection of their lenses yet so Im free to decide. One more thing, they all have videos which Im also interested with there claim of cinematic results. Thanks

jare73, try both out and see which one you like more... go with your instincts and take it from there. Remember though that turning back or switching to the other is a hard thing to do once you have invested into a particular brand.

I went Canon for two main reasons only. 1) I like neutral colors. 2) I like the fact that they have a local service center... everything else is just a matter of adapting or learning how to use it.
