What do we know about human-to-human spread of swine flu?
In September 1988, a previously healthy 32-year-old pregnant woman was hospitalized for pneumonia and died 8 days later. A swine H1N1 flu virus was detected. Four days before getting sick, the patient visited a county fair swine exhibition where there was widespread influenza-like illness among the swine.

The Wisconsin researchers found that the woman spread the swine flu to healthcare workers at the Burlington Hospital where she was treated. They also found that teenagers who showed swine at the Walworth County Fair that year showed antibodies to the swine flu - indicating they caught the virus but did not necessarily become sick..

The 1988 case involved a woman from Burlington. She caught swine flu at the Walworth County Fair while going through the swine exhibition. The woman was eight months pregnant at the time. She was transferred to Milwaukee County Hospital in Wauwatosa and gave birth to a baby girl. The woman died four days after giving birth..

Kani sad sa ubos nga w/n 4-5days nga advisory nila basin saup ni? ako ni himuon ug w/n 1-2days na lng para ma hapi ka...

    7. Are there any medications against Swine Flu?
Yes. Only Tamiflu and Relenza are effective against Swine Flu and must be given early, within 4-5 days of illness.

this should be within 1-2 days? sakto mam? naa pa ko ask nimo after mam... thanks daan...
O sige ha, pasabton tika kay murag dili man ka kahibaw mo interpret ug estorya. Hehehe.

Pangutan-on tika, everytime you get near a person who has the cold (rhinovirus), mataptan ba ka? Healthcare workers come in contact with sick people everyday, do they get sick from all the viruses they encounter? Everyday, a person comes in contact with people (at school, at church, at a restaurant, in the bus, in the jeep, in the grocery) who may be harboring viruses, does that person get sick each and every single time? Nope, because a relatively healthy individual with a strong immune system is not susceptible to these pathogens. Only people with severly compromised immunity (like AIDS patients) fall prey to opportunistic infections that healthy individuals have no trouble fighting off. If we all get sick each and every single time we inhale pathogens, tanang mga tawo dugay rang nangamatay. If a person gets exposed to a virus and he is NOT susceptible to it, he won't get sick. If another person gets exposed to the same virus and IS SUSCEPTIBLE to it, HE WILL GET SICK and his SYMPTOMS will manifest in a matter of hours, NOT days. Nasabtan na nimo?

What's your point in posting that story about the pregnant woman. She died FOUR days later, from SECONDARY BACTERIAL PNEUMONIA. You DON'T die from the FLU itself, you DIE because the VIRUS damages your immune system so much, you can no longer fight off OPPORTUNISTIC bacterial INFECTIONS. And so you die. Pareha ra gud na sa HIV ug AIDS gud. You don't die from HIV itself, you die from all the different infections that your body can no longer fight off because the HIV has rendered your immune system so weak. Nasabtan na nimo?

Asa man lagi nang advisory lagi bahin anang WITHIN 4-5 days, hatagi lagi ko sa LINK mismo, ayaw nang copy paste.

How can human infections with swine influenza be diagnosed?
To diagnose swine influenza A infection, a respiratory specimen would generally need to be collected within the first 4 to 5 days of illness (when an infected person is most likely to be shedding virus). However, some persons, especially children, may shed virus for 7 days or longer. Identification as a swine flu influenza A virus requires sending the specimen to CDC for laboratory testing.

Kailangan pa bang i-explain yan? Hehehe, kalisod nimo pasabton oi, lupig pa man ka's grade one. Pag backread balik beh. I said, Tamiflu MUST be GIVEN WITHIN 1-2 days ONCE a DIAGNOSIS has been MADE. I DID NOT say that a DIAGNOSIS needs to be made within 1-2 days of showing SYMPTOMS. Hahaha! Gi confuse na pud nimo ang pag administer sa tamiflu vs pag himo'g diagnosis? Hahaha, this is just like DURATION all over again.

Hoy dodong, sabta ra gud imong gabasahon oi, kay gikapoyan nako'g pasabot nimo. Hehehe. The woman was HOSPITALIZED due to PNEUMONIA FOUR DAYS after the county fair swine exhibition. That means her condition was at its WORST only FOUR DAYS LATER because of the pneumonia, maong na ospital na dayon siya. When you first get the FLU, your symptoms are just like that of any other common infections. You get nauseous, you get fever, you sniffle, you cough, you get a headache...most people don't seek help immediately because they think, "ay kaya ra ni nako, mawala ra ni, tumar lang biogesic ug medicol". The woman went to the hospital FOUR DAYS later kadtong nag pneumonia na, but that does not mean she wasn't feeling sick before that, pag ka FOUR DAYS nalang ning grabe pag ayo tungod sa pneumonia.

Kailangan pa bang i-explain yan? Mag esep esep ka naman, dodong.

I said "within 1-2 days of the appearance of symptoms", na unsa man intawon ka oi. Unsaon pag diagnose kung wala nag show ug symptoms? Kung ikaw wala ka'y gibati sa imong lawas, why would you seek medical help? The flu is diagnosed through the appearance of the CLASSIC symptoms, gets nimo?

haha mao ba? mura sa imoha man ni gikan sad guro....
