Another advice bro is to try to book via travel agency kay there are times na they offer cheaper rates than what is quoted sa website...

They can offer these cheaper kay they buy in bulk from the carriers...

You might also want to try KE or Asiana...

well im going to go for NWA, 800$ not the cheapest but the plane is good daw A330-200

Hmmm... current ETOPS ratings does not allow the A330 family to fly trans-pacific...the only twin engine aircraft allowed to fly transpac is Boeing 777 family...

Might be another aircraft...by the way, there's no more NWA as Delta already acquired them... most likely the plane will be a B747-400...since thats the equiment used to service MNL...are you flying via Narita or Osaka?

The A330-200 may not have the same 207-minute ETOPS rating that the B777 has but it can be deployed on the transpac route with a stopover in Japan. That's what Northwest-now-Delta does, deploying A330-200s out of its Tokyo hub.

The unique 207-minute ETOPS rating for the 777 comes into play only if you are trying for transpac nonstop from, say, Hong Kong. At certain times of the year, the distance to diversion fields along some specific Pacific routes are over the usual ETOPS limit of 180 minutes. So Boeing worked on getting the 207-min rating so the 777-300ERs could be legally flown on those routes. Then they also agreed to pay to keep Midway Island's field open just so their products flying transpac had a legal alternate. Because Boeing pays for Midway, I don't suppose they allow Airbus products to use the field.

Doesn't (or didn't) PAL fly its A330-300s to Honolulu?

A330 is not designed for long haul. But it should be able to do a Manila Tokyo. (I think...) Standard Transpacific planes are:

    747-400 (Standard plane for PAL/CX/SQ/EVA/Asiana)
    A340-300/400 (CX/SQ)
    777-300/400ER (CX)

These planes will get you to Sanfo Nonstop from your hub departure point. Ex HK or Singapore. The A340-400 (or 450) can get you from Singapore to NewYork NONStop! Its a gruelling 16-17hour flight but beats changing planes and waiting at airport terminals. I'm not sure but PAL used to stopover at either Hawaii or Guam... NWA is stopover at Japan. CX and SQ goes direct. EVA via Taipei and Asiana and Korean via Incheon. If I had to choose because of waiting time between flights I'd rather fly out Cathay. The 12:30 gets you in HK around 3pm and the connecting flight is around 4:30pm. Around an hour wait. Flying home is also convenient. Departs midnight and arrives HK early morning. (Solves the infamous jet lag problem as you sleep on the way and wake up in the morning. Take a sleeping aid)

Seat wise, NWA has bigger leg room. On some planes, they have all leather seats. They are comfy but I noticed that you tend to slide down when you slouch... I'm not sure on their long haul planes since I've only ridden NWA domestic in the US. Cathay is small and cramped but you get private entertainment with pause and resume capabilities on economy. Cathay seats are BAAADDD! Tight and small. Plus the new seats don't recline. They sort of slide under. (If you ride CX, you'll see!) Have you tried Thai airways? check the website...
