bitaw quality training jud!
kung ako naa sa imu place, adto ko PPTC. kay less air traffic, and gamay ra students compared diri. so pwede mu mag 1 on 1 training jud sa instructor which is better kay para pwede ka makaunlimited questions.. but then again, naa sa dumaguete.
@flight_access: why do they need people like me?
@big bob: sa ako nahibaw-an, Aviatours has great maintenance sa ila aircrafts. most of the accidents i know na gikan sa ila kay mga pilot error man..
Gio, can you still remember that Seneca test flight incident? in which the landing gear collapse upon rolling for take-off? Always the bad thing for this Seneca who is having a weak landing gear system. Not adviceable for training use...that was flown both by a Cheynair and Aviatour Senior Pilots.
Try also Cheynair Aviation. 4953442. Just right beside Aviatour's also. Guaranteed no accident and quality training. They dont advertise much, coz they only accept limited student to put ways on quality training. Unsaon man ang daghan kung wala napoy quality ang training. "You can't eat more than you can swallow." Their Flight Instructors are also presently their products (previously their students), and others are now Captains and 2nd officers with our local airline.
paytera ninyo'g mga trabaho oi. pwede makig ilis ug trabaho sah? lolx.
Hi Flygirl,
For light aircraft Dumaguete's runway is long enough and wide enough that students can stay out of trouble, or more accurately, the instructors can keep the students out of trouble. If the student is still new, the simplest solution would be to fly early in the morning.
I actually find it better if students are taught under more demanding situations. An airport with long runways and where the wind blows consistently down the runway tends to spoil the students. Kung pirmi lang Mactan ang lupad, inig abot sa short runway with crosswind, ma aksidente nuon.
Which is why I think Omni in Clark is such a good place to teach students in. With a runway only 600 meters long, obstacles (a flyover right before the threshold) and highly variable winds, the student learns to be on his toes (figuratively). He learns to fly accurately and precisely.
I'm not promoting Omni by the way. I did my CPL with PPTC and instructed at Flyers Philippines. As far as I'm concerned there are so many considerations in choosing a flying school. So you takes your pick and you pays your money.![]()
As far as I remember with that Seneca incident, it was a problem with the locking mechanism of that particular aircraft and not something inherent in the airplane. The Seneca is in use with many flying schools the world over and if the durability of the landing gear is an issue it would've come out a long time ago.
By nature, air is calm during early morning flights. Good for training especially for the fresh trainee... that's why mentioned "afternoon time"... just funny to look back a friend who drifted to the side due to the sudden strong wind hit the plane.. Now I just like flying with my plane to dumaguete, safe (thx to noy temyong and his empanada) and quite place to relax.
Mactan is off limit for flight training. Can no longer do touch and go in Mactan..
About Seneca, SB had been given already sometime last year after of that continuous incident of Seneca's, even ground the type of plane for a month. I even have a photo of the actuator of that landing gear system that was very small, no wonder it breaks easily. Got to have a masipag na mechanic to make a routine check up on the system.
