can anyone tell me whats the difference between a technology and a university?

If the college will become a University, definitely the name will need to change. Intitute and University cannot be in the name together.

University of CIT sounds funny among other names mentioned.

University of the South sounds really good. much like CIT murag California Institute of Technology (although that school is commonly referred to as Caltech which sounds similar to an outsourcing company hehehe)
