It might also help if you have the robots.txt installed in your root domain. Googling the word will yield a plethora of information about its use. E.g. http://www.searchengineworld.com/rob...s_tutorial.htm. If your site is a business-oriented site, sign up with Google Ad Words-- it is guaranteed to list your site prominently on the search page result, and depending on your keywords (and the competition's) it can be a relatively inexpensive ad campaign.

did you place meta tags on your script? that is what robots search for
I studied SEO and there are a lot of factors beside registering ur domain to Search Engines.. There's more to that. You need to use a lot of keywords and place them in title, meta description, meta keywords, H1-H6 tags, alt text, links and most of all the body (general content of your page) in your HTML code. Once again, it's all about keywords.. Good luck.
i agree with Kang, ayaw kalimiti ug butang meta tags. Meta tags is the key, place keywords na relevant sa imo site, tapos make sure that you have good amount of contents because webcrawlers and robot usually crawl the whole site (mostly all pages) even if you only submit the main page and they collect most words that they came accross your site. I-submit imo main page to different Search Engines, there are companies that offer a service to submit your site to 1000 different search engines every month, but if wala ka budget, pwede ikaw lang sad mag-submit, tiyaga kailangan. Para maiwasan na ma-interpret as spammer imo site/email, make sure that you only submit your site per search engine once a month, it will help to keep a record when you submit your site to search engines, para dili ka ma-banned sa mga search engines. Meron mga search engine na kailangan i-confirm pa nimo imo submissions, so make sure that you provide accessible and valid email address.
they are right, it will take time for your site to appear in search engines, atleast one or two months bago mo makita ang tiyaga mo, sometimes years, depende gaano kadami similar sites, offering the same stuff as you, meaning lahat kayo mag-ilog sa keywords.
also the more other sites have links going to your site, these usually help with your page rank, so link partners will help you with your goal to be on top of the page, usually
Be aware that META tags are dead, specially sa mga major engines like Google or Yahoo (in fact Yahoo uses Google' algos). They don't include them in their relevancy algorithms anymore. Focus on getting traffic to your site by placing links to other websites and have them place a link to your site in return.
