"New" High-end Video Card or 22" LCD Monitor? Need Help!

Hello istoryans! I really need your opinions and suggestions.
I am planning to upgrade my video card and monitor but since my budget is not enough to buy the two, so at the moment i have to choose one of them. I'm a bit a hardcore gamer in which I set every games to the highest resolution for best quality. Actually i have a 9600gt OC ver. and 17" CRT monitor. Eventhough the 9600gt can support 1680x1050 for 22" LCD wide it will surely lag or low fps(for me its not worth to buy the widescreen for my current video card) but to think having 22" lcd looks cool too while playing some games. To conclude, i need some help here to which i buy first; the new high-end video card(probably hd4870 or gtx 260) with my 17" crt monitor or my 9600gt with my the 22" lcd wide? help.

If i were in your shoes right now, id wait for the new e-IPS panels from LG to reach the shores of philippines and get the 22" first.

EarlZ, makadaug ba ang mga cheapo cards @ 22"? Even back in the day mopalag naman gani akong vidcard na taas ra kaayo akong resolution. Of course, that was a 256mb.

8800GT is the required min for a 22"

High rated games of course like dead space and fall out 3.
Playing them on big screen would give you more thrill and excitement.....
I am willing to spend 10k+ but im planning to buy by the of the end the month of april, if insufficient fund, probably may.

Hmm... I don't think 22" LCD monitors can handle 1600x1200 resolutions.

But I recommend getting the Samsung 24" with 1080P HD features. I saw one in TTI. Forgot the model.
