Default my poor old rig needs to be upgraded

guys, mao ni ang akong specs:

    CPU: AthlonXP 2200+ T-bred
    Mobo: Asus A7v8x-x
    Mem: 256mb PQI Pc400
VGA: Powercolor ATI Radeon 9200se 128mb
    HDD: 40gb Maxtor ATA
    fan: Thermaltake TR2-M2
    CD: Lite-on CD-Writer/DVD Combo

mangutana lang ko ug unsay maayong unahun sa pag-upgrade? so far, very challenging talaga ang performance ng need for speed most wanted. dili man kaayu mag-lagged. low settings man tanan, 640x480 ra ang resolution, pero high sa visual treatment setting ug medium sa world setting...

gi-adjust nako tong akong virtual memory from the recommnded 384mb to 1.28gb. galibog lagi ko ug unsay unahun, memory ba, o dvd-writer, basin 80gb hdd... naa namn ko'y 3500 para upgrade.

ok ra ba na gi-adjust nako tng virtual mem to 1280mb, which is 5x larger than my installed physical mem?

dont do dat, u will have out of memory problems

just keep the virtual to minimal... increasing it doesnt really improve performance. i will jiust increase the allowance of memory to be paged to the harddisk. not really speed gain. mine i set it to just 128. my ram is 384MB no speed gain or loss in anyway

recommend nako dungagi ug another 256MB stick PC400 much better 512mb, dont upgrade the processor, its still capable. Graphics nimo upgrade na. if u can afford a vanilla GF6600 128/128-bit AGP ok na kaau for the nxt 2 yrs. adding a second harddisk may improve disk operation if u transfer the virtual mem to the new drive...

i hope dis helped.. 5,700 man tingali ang GF6600 AGP sa PCX.. ang RAM affordable ra kaau

after the mems, buy new hdd, 80gb or 160gb IDE will do just fine. programs and apps now a days really eat a lot of hdd space.

Your motherboard is based on a VIA chipset, which isn't really bad. I suggest getting 1 GB of memory and at least a 6600 GT.
