I understand that Holy is meant to be in the Context of the Catholic faith.
But how was it less Holy for you? or for anyone else?
Perhaps if you are a parishioner of a church which is right Next to, or atbang ug Beach Club nga nag bikini contest, then I completely understand how it might be affected, pero if not, how was it less holy?
Is it the knowledge that such an event is happening which makes it less Holy? If so, what about the knowledge that everywhere in the city, there are bars open during Holy Week which show far more skin than Bikini Contests?
@masterjanarius: Yes, I agree that there are universal truths that go beyond religions, race, creed or nationalities. And I believe respect is one of them.
Here is where I am at a loss, we want them to respect our remembrance of the Holy Week so we ask them not to have these types of events during this time. But why? Maka sabot ra ko kung affected gyud atong celebration of the Holy Week tungod nila pero I dont see how we are directly or indirectly affected? Its like asking a friend who is not Catholic nga ayaw ug kaun ug karne kung mang laag ta inig ting puasa kay respeto lang sa ako religion.
Just to be clear, I am Catholic, I did do my best to observe Holy Week, I did not go to any Bikini Contest, and I dont particularly like Bikini Contests. What I dont like is our Governments interference with people's right to have fun just because the "majority" aren't suppose to have fun during that time of the year. I dont agree with Gov. Garcia's Executive Order banning these things because I see no "Lawful" reason for it. It is not harmful to health, public safety or public order. It is, in my opinion, an unjust exercise of police power.
@Springfield: I agree with you sir, while I may not like it, I dont want the government to interfere with other people's rights unless it is absolutely necessary. With regards to politics, I think we can all agree on that.
Sa part sad sa mga organizers, diba unfair sad para nila nga whole year sila nag prepare ani then ni-incur na sila ug expenses, ni make na sila ug deals with advertisers, then suddenly dili na pwede? that is tantamount to an Ex-Post Facto Law. Meaning punished ka for doing something nga dili illegal pag buhat nimo then ni kalit lang ug ka illegal nga nasugdan na nimo.
