    i'm planning to buy Sigma 105mm Macro or canon 85 1.8 usm before end of february -- sa katong nakasuway unsa may nindut?

    after trying few lenses(i tried 18-200, 24-70 2.8, 24-135) i decided that am going to shoot most of the time with prime.

    magsakit akong kamot/bukton anang zoom na 2.8 kay perting bug-ata

    It's a minolta dynax/maxum 5d I bought this cam from mark. He had it shipped here because it's so hard to find a store selling it here.

    i have the 100 macro and the 85mm 1.8
    i use the 85mm on 95% of my studio shoots.
    but if ur like beor and manu, who love macro, then of course get the macro.
    the 85mm is terrible with macro work.

    i now also shoot with prime most of the time.
    only on walk around situations like weddings do i use zoom.

    heavy zoom lenses but Superb Great Lenses are worth carrying around parin.
    it comes down to what you are willing to compramise to get the best optics in a zoom range.

    @agoroy -
    sigma 105mm macro is a very sharp lens i would say same as the canon 100mm macro, but slow in AF, was able to try i when it was in manila. it is prone to flare though when light sources are in front. if you want to shoot macro and likes the sigma brand, go for the 150mm macro. but this will be more expensive than the canon 100mm macro. the canon 85mmf1.8 is a great lens, naa ko ani before but naapil nig kawat but i dont want to compare it with macro lenses since they are kinda different. the macro lenses... whether sigma or canon are way sharper than the 85f1.8... too sharp that you dont want to use it for portaits since all the details on the face of your subject (yes even the tiny hair) will not be pleasing to look at... it is that sharp hehehe
