Default PC hardware setup requirements for Sony PS2 emulation

Good day to all you folks.

I just would like to ask you PC experts out there about what's the best hardware setup requirements for Sony PS2 emulation. I was able to dload a PS2 emulator with plugins these past days and gave it a try on my PC. I also dloaded some PS2 DVDs in .iso format and burned it on a DVD-Rom @ 4x speed.
I might say the program works fine with no errors. The only problem is the quality of the emulation. Playing the PS2 game on my PC turns out to be so sloppy and laggy.

I was just wondering... is my hardware not capable enough? or is it just the software? By the way, here's the setup of my PC:

    Motherboard: AsRock ConRoe 1333-D667
    Processor: LGA 775 Intel Pentium D 925 (3.0Ghz,800Mhz FSB, 2Mb L2 Cache)
    RAM: 2 x Kingston 1Gb DDR667 - DDR2 bus
HDD: Primary: Seagate 40Gb Sata(i dunno how much cache...)
Secondary: Seagate 80Gb Sata(i dunno how much cache...)
    VGA: PCI-E Sparkle NVidia 7200 GT/7300 SE 256Mb DDR2 64bit
Sound: Internal audio RealTek ALC655 audio codec
    Optical Drive: LG 22x DVD-RW/CD-RW/DVD-R/CD-R

Please tell me which part to upgrade. I checked the emulator's web site but they don't have any information regarding the emulator's hardware requirements. Also, for those who already tried using a Sony PS2 emulator with nice performance, please include your hardware setup. By the way, the Sony PS2 emulator that i'm using is PCSX2 v0.9.6.

Hoping for your reply. Thank you and more power...

Actually there is, modern day processors are probably over 100x faster than a PS2 but the problem is on the software emulation, some games run really fast and some dont.

Its better to buy a real PS2, its pretty cheap today.. i believe its cheaper to buy a PS2 rather than upgrade your existing PC just to play PS2 games.

^^ exacto mundo, spec wise modern processors are fast but emulation kills the speed.

PSP3 and PSP emu's wala pay klaro bisan naa nay mga release. Pero sa mga uban console and hand held device emu's na testingan noon nako and no problem. In the future pa siguro mo release ug working emu's.
