The rocket did in fact cross the northern tip of Honshu.

There are so many contradictory reports coming out of some US based press offices. First they claim the rocket has not enough range to reach CONUS, and YET they say the North Korean rocket may be able to launch a satellite into orbit--that clearly means that the rocket CAN reach CONUS, because any rocket that can achieve LEO can target ANY place on earth. It seems US government press offices are playing with the public's lack of understanding of orbital mechanics.

UPDATE: An erratum and an apology. After studying the data, I just realized I missed an important point entirely--if the payload was a satellite, say, the size of a Coke can, yes it can reach LEO. But, a nuclear warhead is MANY times heavier than a Coke can...and thus yes, all of the described scenarios such as this one...

...is totally correct. Heavier payload means the rocket's range will be limited, and yes, it can only reach Alaska, and not CONUS as of this point in time.

murag klaro man ang stand sa Japan ani nga ila lang tirahan if naay debris or something nga mo land sa Japan. Cowardice diay na ila gibuhat murag dili para nako, halos taga adlaw man last week ko makakita sa news diri sa Japan sa ila preparation sa launch sa N. Korea and Japan together with US kay murag twice sila nag simulate sa pag intercept sa missile if padulong gyud mo land sa Japan. Ambot lang kaha ngano wala ka naka ingon ka " we heard nothing from Japan " nga grabe man sila ka defensive gani halos nagkasayop2x na gani sila issue warning sa mga Japanese people. Basin wala lang gi news diha.

Dude, the Japan of today is no longer the Imperial Japan of some 60 years ago, I've been there, I have live with them and at least I know how they will act when face with threat. The first thing they do is RUN! Thus, even before the launch I was expecting 99.99% that all they got is talk and more talk.

Maghulat pa diay ka nga naa mo land or debris nga mahulog usa ka mo fire. Anything that enters your airspace without your permission can be shoot down when necessary. When it comes to missile technology, no need to prove the neccessity. They have an army that are very soft and timid, well, what can you expect, their most experienced commander probably haven't fired a single shot towards an enemy.

Thats your opinion of Japan, bro and I respect that.

if Japan is not diplomatic enough then they will have the balls to intercept the missile....

anah ragud... they're aware nga mahimung unstable ang peace kung ila nah hilabtan... N.Korea has a very big war potential.... and Japan is aware of that...
