You know why? because the flyover or skywalk projects involves a big budget, easier for the fund to be approved, involves lesser people/processing, easy and fasto build and need less to say faster turnover of their S.O.P. that's from a congressman and contractor's point of view.

flyovers devaluates realty properties because it is aesthetically dirty and annoying to look at. in other countries, flyovers are eyesores but in our country they are considered as monuments.

If one has a leaky roof, then he should change the entire panel and not just remedy it with an elastometric sealant (vulcaseal). Makes sense right?

mag lisod man gud ta ana bro if we change the entire system to solve the problem... as what they said like road widening....daghan pag i process nga papers para sa owner sa yuta nga ma igo sa widening kong di pa mag ka sinabot na-a pay tendency nga mag kiniha-ay.... we been there many times..... it can be annoying to look at.. but at least it is usefull....

yes it involves big money...pero ma ayo nalang na kay sa wala jud tay makita nga project sa atong goberno..... at least bahh na-a tay makita sa atong gi bayad nga tax...

i totally understand, but here are the facts:

1] regardless if the gov't buys the lot cheap or free even, the owner can't do anything about it because it will be expropriated and the gov't will win almost 100%.

2] we have the budget for infra projects, all it takes is political will.

the only reason that our congressmen, politicians etc. prefer skywalks/flyovers over widening is that a few people is involved in the transaction, the deal is faster thus lesser chance of controversy or ma-silip by the people, media or political enemy.

this city had a good number of widening projects that was implemented in just a short span of time. i think that was during the "glory days" of MCDP under tommy o. & sammy d.Â* alvin g. should have continued that drive, vision & dynamism then we should have not experienced this traffic problem now that Cebu is getting to be a very big and populated metropolis.

I agree with lytslpr, flyovers should be the last resort. daghan pa lain solution aside from flyovers and road widening. they should focus instead on full implementation of our traffic laws.
flyovers and skywalks are the favorite cash cow of our corrupt government officials. and aesthetically, they just destroy our landscape and skyscape.
