Btw if you're going sata, go for the Hitachi deskstar series. It beats the maxtor diamond lines, the samsung spinpoint or the fastest seagate sata series in performance. Actually, my hitachi (on my wife's pc) score 97.5mb/s in average read speed compared to 94.5mb/s by my 36 gig raptor (both in raid 0 config) in HDtach benchmark.But the raptor beats it in random access time 8.7ms to 13.1ms. frankyl speaking, there's not much performance diff. you will notice. Best of all its one of the cheapest.Read reviews..and go get one, it might just be available there.

the hitachi's are good buys indeed. however,.. im pretty satisfied with the raptors performance for now.

Guys with SATA HD drives, can I use my USB flash drive to install the SATA controller drivers? My motherboard is capable of floppy disk emulation using any USB flash device. I really don't want to reattach my floppy drive.

hi vik,.. if its XP, i dont think its support USB UPON o.s. install,.. or is it just bec my mobo? however,.. i stronly suggest you make a disk out from your MOBO's sata drivers.
