Kabanata 13: Ang mga Sang’gre sa Etheria

The Past

The four sang’gres find themselves in a forest after entering the gateway to etheria. They aren’t quite sure where they are exactly so they ask.

Amihan: “Ito na ba ang nakaraan? Nandito na ba tayo?”

Pirena: “Marahil ay ito na nga yon.”

Amihan suddenly senses the approach of some warriors. Danaya wants to play safe and asks her sister if there are friends or foes. The troop turns out to be Etherian guards. The sisters unaware of who has found them issue a greeting. But the captain of the guard disregards the greeting and informs them that Diwata’s are forbidden to carry weapons. Alena notices that the soldiers are wearing unusual armour, so she asks them to identify themselves. The captain immediately issues an order to capture the sisters, and his men prepare to attack.

Noticing the aggressive posture of the soldiers the sisters prepare to fight. Pirena reminds them that they don’t have time for a fight, so they should just use the gems. Her sisters agree and all four try to call up their elemental powers to quickly dispatch the soldiers. But to their surprise they find that they no longer have the gems and their powers. Without their magic the sisters decide to use brute force to dispatch their foes. A fierce fight ensues and the sisters are seen fighting better than ever before.

The Present:

Cassiopeia teleports to the tree of life to speak to her teacher Evades. She informs the ancient Etherian that the sisters have successfully arrived in the past. Her teacher then informs her that he hopes they will succeed in their mission. At this Cassiopeia wonders as to what part of the pass the sisters may have gone. Her teacher then tells her that the sisters have gone to the beginning, to and Encantadia at peace before the onset of war.

The Past:

Two men are walking in the forest when they come across Alena and Danaya fighting off some etherian guards. The sang’gre are greatly outnumbered by the soldiers, but continue to hold their own and beat back the enemy. The men decide to remain hidden; they notice that the two women fighting the mighty etherian soldiers are Diwatas. After making this observation they decide to call for help to aid the two Diwatas in their fight. But the fight seems to be going well for the sang’gre; they seem to be moving faster and more fiercely than before.

The Present:

Cassiopeia: “Mainam kung sa simula, kung bago magaganap ang digmaan makakarating ang mga sang’gre magagawan nila ng paraan upang mapatay ang mga kaaway at mapigilan and pagdating ng digmaan. Ngunit paano kung mabigo sila?”

Evades then tells her that if the sisters fail then everything will happen just as it did before, Avria will still issue her curse and the sang’gre will never find Cassandra. At this juncture Cassiopeia wonders why her powers did not show these events, why wasn’t she able to foresee all that was happening now. If she had only known that this would all come to pass when she made Cassandra from Lira’s hair and her own blood then she would have never created the child. The elder tries to explain that it is likely her limitation being only half etherian; just has he himself has limitations due to this fact. He admits that he does not know how things will turn out.

Cassiopeia looks impatient and turns to leave her teacher. Evades stops her and tells her not to leave. She must not follow the sang’gre. The gateway has already closed and they are not alone. Ybrahim has already followed them to the past. Cassiopeia seems concerned upon learning that the king has journeyed to the past as well.

Evades: “Mapanganib ang ginawa nyang ito, wala siyang pahintulot, wala siyang dugong Etherian”

With visible concern on her face Cassiopeia asks him what is to become of Ybrahim in the past. But Evades has no answers; he does not know what is to become of the young king in the ancient past.

The Past:

Ybrahim is staggering along the side of a steep cliff. He is obviously weak and disconcerted as he uses his sword as a cane. As he wanders Odessa of Hera Aega lands in front of him. He doesn’t notice her arrival until she addresses the young king at arrow point.

Odessa: “Sino ka? Sino kang hangal na pumasok sa kagubatan na nasasakop naming ng Hera Aega?”

Ybrahim tries to answer her only to find that he has lost his memory.

Meanwhile by a lake Ornia is picking flowers when another Diwata approaches her. The diwata tells Ornia to watch one of the men who seems to be watching her; it would seem he is truly attracted to Ornia. Ornia tells the woman that she has promised herself not to fall for anyone; she does not want to have children if the only thing in store for them is slavery at the hands of the Etherian. So she vows never to love any man.

Just as she is telling her friend how she will never love anyone the two men who witnessed the fight between the Etherians and the Sang’gre come running towards them. The Diwatas are all alarmed and they all hide behind some rocks as the strangers who have just noticed them continue to approach. The two men tell the Diwatas that they have nothing to fear, they merely bring news of some Diwatas caught in a fight with some Etherian guards. With this information Ornia becomes concerned and asks the men where the four diwatas can be found. She then asks the men to take her to the sang’gre so she may help.

Back at Hera Aega, Odessa finds it difficult to believe that the man in front of her has lost all of his memory. She ascertains from his armour and the look on his face that he is also a heran, probably from the kingdom of Sapiro. Ybrahim does not know what a heran is, nor does he remember Sapiro. So Odessa explains that a heran is a person of royal blood. She can’t believe that he cannot remember anything so she says the explanation is either he is lying to get her olontre or he really has lost his memory. Ybrahim does not understand what she’s talking about so he gets ready to leave. As he turns Odessa aims the arrow at him again. When he doesn’t turn back she shoots him with her lightning arrow which knocks the young man out.

In forest of the Diwata the sang’gre are still fighting the Etherian soldiers when Ornia and the two men arrive at the scene. Ornia turns out to be a siren and she uses her powerful voice which serves to incapacitate the Etherian soldiers. Alena and Danaya are startled at her arrival and they confront the strangers. Ornia informs the two sang’gre that they have nothing to fear and that she and the men are friends. She asks if the sisters have any other companions. The sang’gre tell her that their sisters were separated during the fighting. So Ornia told them that they should look for the other two quickly before other Etherians arrive. They quickly leave to search for Amihan and Pirena.

The Present:

A large crowd of subjects are confronting Wahid looking for the Princess Cassandra so that they may give her their gifts for her birthday. They are informed that Cassandra is not at Sapiro. Some of the people in the crowd start thinking out loud that she may be in Lireo with Queen Danaya. But some of the people also present inform them that they have already been to Lireo and the princess is not there. Also while at the kingdom of the Diwata they witnessed something very disconcerting, the sky above the towering peaks of the Diwata city turned blood red. Then another subject tells the crowd of how one of the towers of the city of Sapiro suddenly disappeared without a trace. The sentiment of the crowd begins to take on a panicked tone when Wahid begins to interject and silences the assemblage.

Cassiopeia arrives just in time before the captain of the Sapiro guard looses his temper. He informs her that he is loosing his temper and his Barbaro side is emerging which telling him to just behead the lot. He tells the old queen that he cannot find the words to tell the people that the entire royal family has left, not without causing a panic amongst the subjects. So Cassiopeia tells him exactly what to say to the people, that the royal family has gone on a very important mission and they do not know when they will return.

The Past: Hera Aega

Odessa has brought the unconscious Ybrahim to the village of Hera Aega. Her mother immediately inquire as to the identity of the male captive. They also ask Odessa what has happened to him. Her aunt immediately seems angry at Odessa’s actions and attempts to kill Ybrahim before he has a chance to gaze upon the Hera Aegan’s which is strictly forbidden. She is stopped by her sister who says that she understands why her daughter has brought this young man into their village. Odessa plans to use Ybrahim as leverage against the Sapirians to get her pet Vakar back.

Sapiro Palace:

King Meno along with Aegen are enjoying the beautiful singing a pashnea in a magical golden cage. Raquim arrives and greets his uncle who responds with a suitable greeting. The young prince asks his uncle if he has enjoyed the Vakar he has caught for him. The king tells him that the pashnea sings very well and brings him great joy. At this Aegen comments that the soothing effect of the Vakar may help the king and queen to finally have children. King Meno tells them that if he should have a child he will name the child Armeo after his diseased brother and Raquim’s father.

The Diwata Camp:

Ornia and the sang’gre have just arrived at the camp.

Pirena: “Anong lugar ito, saan mo kami dinala?”

Ornia tells the sisters that they are in the land of the Diwatas, the sisters immediately think that they are in Lireo, a lireo before the kingdom was founded. But Ornia does not recognize the name. They finally realize that they are in a time long before the founding of their kingdom. The other diwatas who overhear the sisters think that they may be a little deranged, when Pirena hears this she pulls out her sword and approached the diwata who said they were deranged. It is a good thing that Danaya is able to head her off and calm her.

Ornia addresses the sisters, she is interested in their armour for it is nothing like what those her people yet posses. The sisters decide to tell her that they come from very far away, from a kingdom known as Lireo that is far away indeed.

It’s then the sang’gres turn to ask questions, and Amihan begins by asking the people who have helped them who they are. Ornia introduces herself and the four automatically recognize that she is the mother of Cassiopeia. Then the two men introduce themselves.

Nakba: “Mga diwata, at ako naman si Nakba”
Banak: “At ako naman si Banak”

At this introduction the sisters are visible amused to the point that Amihan confirms what they have just been told. The sister’s obviously trying to hold back their laughter upon learning the identity of the two men.

Sapiro:

Raquim and Hagorn are practicing their sword techniques. Raquim easily defeats Hagorn again, and as they end their practice a troop of Etherian guards led by the captain of the guard arrive at Sapiro. The two princes are intrigued at what could be so important that the head of the guard himself would be sent to sapiro. They decide to follow the etherians into Sapiro.

The Diwata Camp:

The sisters are talking about Nakba and Banak. They are intrigued at what could have happened to the two to cause their transformation in the future.

Pirena: “Marahil ay sinumpa sila…”

Ornia arrives and tells the four that she was in awe at what they did in the forest. It is no small feat to face the Etherian guard. She tells them that their actions could have dire ramifications for the four. Danaya tells her that if they had only known that they were fighting etherians they would of killed the lot of them. This shocks Ornia who tells Danaya that she should not speak that way, for it is considered treason against Etheria. Amihan tells Ornia that they want to enter Etheria, but is immediately told that no Diwata has ever entered Etheria without becoming a slave or dying. The Etherians are simply that ruthless.

Pirena: “Kung sinasabi mong malulupit ang mga Etherian, Bakit ka sumama kay Memen para magtanan?”

Ornia looks puzzled at Pirena, who is Memen. The sister’s realize that they are far off into the past, to a time even before Memen and Ornia have had a chance to meet. They explain the Memen is the husband of Queen Avria. Ornia is shocked, she can’t even think of a reason why she would run off with the Queen’s husband in the first place. She insists that something like that would never happen as it would be treason.

Sapiro:

Victus, the Captain of he Etherian Guard is speaking to Asval.

Victus: “Hindi ninyo maaaring ankinin ang hindi sa inyo, kaya hiniling kong ibalik ninyo iyon sa mga Etherian ngayon din.”

Raquim arrives and asks Aval what the Etherians want in Sapiro. Asval quietly asks his nephew where he found the Vakar. Raquim a bit surprised at the question tells his uncle that he found the Vakar in the forest. Victus overhears the explanation and tells them that the Vakar is the property of a heran from Hera Aega. Asval tries to explain that this is a sorry and unexpected turn of events. But they cannot return the Vakar without causing disgrace to the king which would put prince Raquim into trouble. Hagorn tries to intercede, but is informed that the Hera Aegan’s will no face a man. So the Etherians give the Sapirians until nightfall to return the Vakar or the Hera Aegan’s will kill their captive Sapirian Royal (Ybrahim). This is a surprise for the Sapirians, so they try to get information regarding the captive, but they do not get much information from the guards.

Hera Aega:

Odessa is guarding over the sleeping Ybrahim. She is admiring his striking good looks as he strokes his face while he slumbers. She seems to be falling for the sleeping king. Ybrahim suddenly opens his eyes and the guard reacts, but Odessa sends her away. She blindfolds Ybrahim and tells him not to remove the cloth for his own life’s sake. While the two are talking, Ora walks into the tent. She prepares to cast judgement on Ybrahim, but he reacts and removes the blindfold. As he gazes upon Ora, the older Aegan scream in anguish as her face begins to distort and goes completely black and white.

Abangan:

* Avria asks the guard what has happened, she is told that they were confronted by some diwatas who know how to fight
* Memen offers to personally find the Diwatas who attacked the guard
* Raquim is being whipped in the sapiro courtyard as punishment
* Ornia stops the sang’gre from attacking Memen

Kabanata 14: Ang Hari ng Sapiro

The episode opens with Ybrahim pointing a weapon to Odessa.
Ora: “Bitawan mo si Odessa!”

Meanwhile, Etherian soldiers enter and one of them hands the Vakar to one of the ladies of Hera Aega.
Odessa: “Bitawan mo ko, Sapiryan!”
Ybrahim’s weapon suddenly vanished. He lets go of Odessa who then gets her pet.

In Hera Andal, some Etherian soldiers report to Avria that they had an encounter with four diwatas. Memen tells Avria that this is the first time that there was an incident of diwatas fighting the Etherians. Avria asks the soldiers where the diwatas are and ordered them to search for them and bring them to her. Memen tells the queen that he is willing to be the one who’ll lead the soldiers in their search. Avria agrees and gives her blessing and authority to her husband.

In the diwatas’ camp, Danaya tells Alena that no matter what she does, she cannot summon her gem. Alena thinks that maybe it is because the gems aren’t existing yet in that time. Pirena and Amihan enter, and Pirena tells them that she was shocked to know that there was no available panea yet in that time.

Pirena: “Maniniwala ba kayo na wala pang panea sa panahong ito?”

Amihan tells her sisters that they need to leave for Etheria so they could fulfill their mission. Ornia, with Banak and Nakba, enters the scene and asks them if they are really eager to push through with heir journey. She also tells them that they are not safe.

Pirena: “Sila ang hindi ligtas…”

Nakba prankly tells Banak that Pirena is so confident with her statement as if the Etherians would really be afraid of her and the two laugh. Pirena, a little bit irked, tells Banak and Nakba,

Pirena:“Mas nais kong ang pagmumukha nyo sa panahon namin… Ayoko ng pagmumukha nyo ngayon…”

Somewhere in the forest, Memen with some Etherian soldiers search for the four diwatas. Memen points to somewhere and tells his company that they can find the diwatas in there.

In Hera Aega, Odessa asks Asnan to give her authority to talk to the soldiers. Asnan gives her the freedom to do so. Odessa then asks the soldiers on what they did that they were able to get back her Vakar.

Flashback: A Sapiryan guard beats Raquim. It was done so as a punishment for putting the King in shame. King Meno and Arkrey enter. King Meno stops the guard and Arkrey hands the Vakar to one of the soldiers.

Odessa was amazed upon learning that certain practice of the Sapiryans. Asnan tells Odessa that they too, have certain practices that must be followed. Odessa tells her that she will free the Sapiryan, but Asnan tells her that the Sapiryan must be killed, and she is ordering her to do so.

In Sapiro, Asval heals Raquim’s wounds. Raquim thanks Asval. Raquim asks for forgiveness and tells Asval that he doesn’t know about Hera Aega. Asval says that he doesn’t need to ask for forgiveness. He then tells Raquim that the ladies of Hera Aega are secretive that’s why only few encantados know about them. They are not permitted to take a husband because they believe that a man is the key to power but the man is also the key to their weakness. Meanwhile, King Meno enters and Raquim asks his forgiveness. The king tells him that he need not to. Raquim says that he is also thinking about the Sapiryan that they have as captive. Asval tells him that the Sapiryan will not be able to escape.

Back to Hera Aega, Odessa comes in, holding a sword. She is ready to stab Ybrahim but he senses that there is someone inside the room. Odessa was all set at stabbing Ybrahim but instead, she stabbed the sword into the ground.

Odessa: “Hindi kita kayang paslangin…Bakit ganun? Bakit hindi ko kaya?”

Ybrahim recognizes her voice. She takes off his blindfold and frees him. She tells him that he needs to leave.

In the forest, Alena suddenly remembers her husband, Ybrahim. Danaya tells her sister that surely Ybrahim is okay in Sapiro.
Ornia: “Sapiro? May kabiyak ka sa Sapiro?”

Danaya tells Ornia that there are some things that they don’t need to explain to her. Ornia says that she needs to go now, because she cannot set foot in Etheria. Before she could go, she senses that there are Etherians heading that way. Memen and his company arrive and Memen orders the soldiers to seize them. He uses his powers to Ornia and the sang’gres fight the Etherians.

In Hera Aega, Ybrahim asks Odessa how come that her form doesn’t change. Odessa answers that it is because she hasn’t gone through talpas, a ceremony being done to ladies of Hera Aega who are already in the right age.

Asnan and Ora suddenly enter and the mother was shocked that she hasn’t killed him yet. Ora says that they will be the ones who’ll kill him. Asnan cannot believe that Odessa did not follow her.

Ora thinks that it is because of Odessa’s love for the Sapiryan. Ybrahim and Odessa fight the Etherians. Odessa was able to release a green arrow at her ashti.

Danaya tells Alena that it is time for them to discover which of their powers have retained. Alena uses her magical voice to kill the Etherians.Danaya then tries to summon her gem but to no avail.

Ornia runs away from the Etherians and Memen follows her. Memen falls on a pit and is trapped. He shouts for help and Ornia was thinking if she should help him or not.

In Sapiro, Arkrey asks Raquim where he’s going. Raquim is going to Hera Aega to save the Sapiryan they are talking about.

Odessa thanks Ybrahim for helping her. Ybrahim says that he should be the one who’s grateful. He asks her how come that she was able to hurt her own ashti. Odessa answers that she just used a green arrow for her to forget the incident.

Ornia helps Memen out of the pit. Ornia tells him that she helped him, so let her go home peacefully. Ornia then remembers the scene where Pirena asks her why she ran away with Memen.

Alena tells Danaya that they need to help Ornia. Danaya suggests that they should find first Pirena and Amihan.

Memen tells Ornia not to worry because he is not that bad and he will not hurt her. Memen noticed that Ornia has a wound and he heals it for her. The four sang’gres enter.
Danaya: “Layuan mo siya!”
Pirena points one of her daggers to Memen.
Ornia: “Wag!”
Amihan: “Bakit mo siya ipinagtatanggol?”

Ornia answers them that he is the one they are talking about. He is Memen, Queen Avria’s spouse.

Ybrahim senses that someone is heading their way. Ora and Asnan tells the Etherians to search for them. Odessa throws a stone to them so they would be confused. Odessa then runs away, leaving Ybrahim.

Then, somebody points his sword to Ybrahim. The being turned out to be Raquim.
