m currently using pb 10.5 and so far ok naman. ive also been to Sybase trainings in Ortigas 'Fast Track to Powerbuilder 11.0'. so far hindi pa masyadong nagboboom ang pb pagdating sa .NET technology but they're getting there soon. hopefully in a year's time magshift na rin ung version sa ofc from 10.5 - 11.0. haven't used Oracle/MySQL as db puro Sybase(ASA9) lng din ..

additional .NET skill sana sa resume.. meron na dito pb 11.0 installer, which they got for free from sybase (license# will be from sybase website itself) pero matagal tagal pa magamit kc nasanay na ang mga clients d2 ng client-server na system, pero nakapag propose na mgmt though they were quite hesitant to do so dahil nga bago lang ang .NET sa pb .. m still looking forward to it anyway.. or better yet, magshift nlng ng language from pb to MS .NET if given the chance.. hehe..

Tay-an naman kog PowerBuilder, last time I used it was 1995. Mao pay pag uso ato sa PFC library. It was during the time na release ang Windows 95. Ang UI sa PowerBuilder sa una kay pang Window 3.11 pa to. I was learning this language together with C Motif API's and XtIntrinsics ... on Solaris Sun Sparc 20 ... paetz.

buhi pa diay ni ang powerbuilder bain inyo maestro tigulang na kaayo.

naa ko complete set ana powerbuilder installer, documentation, user guide, references, etc... gihatag sa akong maestro saunang panahon. i don't think pb is that powerful... the power of an application relies on the database stability, MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Postgre also made improvements much better than that dinasour. PB developers where hired by microsoft to developer to create MSSQL, microsoft probably dismantled PB.

if it's that powerful, could it run on a cross platform (multiple operating system)? and could it be not decompiled (Java can answer the first but it could not answer the second)?

if these two question could be answered then it would be the time to call a language powerful.

Powerbuilder is not a cross platform programming languages but it has DATAWINDOW that make this language more powerful than others.

If you talk about reports...the winner will always be the datawindow of Powerbuilder. right now naa new version sa powerbuilder which maka himo na og website...
