Thread: Miami Heat

    The Good$!!!
    i got your point mate.
beasley deserves to have more playing time than j-moon and the rest of the bench players of the heat.
but basketball isnt just offense, its also defense.and defense can win games.
imagine if u put beasley on those great powerfowards in the league?
this guy has loads of talents in his game but he just cant play defense.thats his weakness.
so if you put him against garnett? i think kg will eat his defense.
i understand your point of view, but lets face the fact that spoelstras system is different from your "lets put it this way" system.no offense...but spoelstra sucks, but sometimes did his job well.
im a big fan of beasley coz i wanted him to land in sacramento but miami picked him.
anyway, i still hope for miami to clinch the playoff spot coz miami is such a lovely city indeed.

siya man mahimo na main option nya oki naman kaayo na mahimo og secondary si kevin martin..

Since Beasley has been playing off the bench he has been coming in for Haslem.

If they start him, he should be at the SF position!

I thought they had traded Marion so Beasley could blossom at the 3 spot and develop his game at that position since he has a pretty reliable jumper, can make a 3 and can create off the dribble.

Listed at 6'10 (although he looks 6'8 to me), he can pretty much play the 3 spot with the likes of Hedo Turkoglu, Danny Granger and Lamar Odom who can play the 4 and 5 spot...

They have Udonis Haslem and J.O. at the 4 and 5 not to mention a good perimeter defender and shot blocker in Joel Anthony...

Aside from Bron, I think he wouldn't have too much of a problem defending those other players at the SF position... How can a player improve if he doesn't get enough playing time...

Let me make a list of SF's who are not knowned for their defense but has been a starter most of their career.

    Granger
    Turkoglu
    Stojakovic
    Jefferson
Lewis (back in his days with the Sonics)
    Maggette
    Butler
    Gay
Durant (moved at the 2 spot this season)

They are not relied for their defense, yet they are started because of the offense they bring in the table night after night.

Moon might be a decent defender but he is just so inconsistently unreliable...

With the addition of JO, I think the Heat now have a solid perimeter defense in those 3 players I mention.

Besides, I've been checking the Heat's boxscore in all their games and B'Easy usually has a steal and a couple of blocks here and there... I don't just check on how many points he had scored.

And remember that clutch strip off the inbound pass in their win againts the Golden State Warriors a couple of months back and when he drained those clutch free throws...

I won't budge about what I think that Spoelstra only gets the credit because Wade has been playing tremendously well... They will make the playoffs this season because The Flash has been HEALTHY all season long and not because of how well he coaches!

In those clutch performances from Wade (againts the Knicks, Bulls, Raptors), I never did noticed that a**hole Spoelstra call up a play, it was all D-Wade's instinctive reaction of taking over in the clutch and making bucket after bucket...

JO = excellent help defender and shot blocker all throughout his injury plaqued career...
Joel Anthony = athletically gifted although undersized and blocks the ball so well (I'am impressed with this guy's defense)
Udonis Haslem = heart and soul of Heat's defense. Although undersized at 6'8, plays hard-nosed defense againts the elite big men of the league...
Dwayne Wade = Best shot blocking guard in the league and among the top in steals! Great in help defense. remember his blocks on Brook Lopez, TWICE!

I don't think they neccessarily depend on Beasley's ability to defend and who better can he learn from than these guys...

The kid is just 19, room for improvement is limitless. A lot of established all-stars today didn't start out as good defenders mind you...

    My point has been made...

I understand how frustrating it is for most Miami fans that Beasley is not given starter minutes. But then again, there are also points in why he should stay on the bench for now.

    1. Udonis Haslem - he's been with the Heat for years now and understand how the Heat system works. He is 6'8 but he's got the necessary experience and knowledge how their plays work best.

    2. position - Michael Beasley is a PF, not an SF, thus Jamario Moon starts. Unless they start playing him in the 3 but then again they might have to wait for a few months for the move to finally sync in and make them a great bunch on the floor.

    3. ROY race - most of the people I know who want Beasley to start simply wants him to become Rookie of the Year. He can do it but, I think, at the expense of disrupting the team chemistry, that's not a good idea, especially when the Heat are chasing the Hawks for the fourth spot. This is crunch time here so I don't think Spo is going to start him at all this season.

    4. Team Chemistry - the Heat has been pretty much looking for a flow during the start of the season, especially with a new coach. So, I guess they found it by putting Beasley on the bench to get the steady offensive flow whenever Wade needs rest.

    5. Dwayne Wade - Wade penetrates, misses the layup, Udonis Haslem rebounds then gives it back to Wade for a 3. Wade shoots a jumper misses, rebounded by JO for a putback. Wade penetrates, locked on by 2 defenders but gives it to Mario Chalmers/Daequan Cook for a 3. Moon screens defender for a Wade 2-pointer. It's not Beasley can't do all these things but, simply put, it's all about Wade. This is Wade's team and for someone like Beasley to put his name on the Miami team, he needs to understand how things work in the pro league.

    Those are my two cents.

The topic is me wanting Beasley to have at least more than 24mins per game for chrissake!

Doesn't matter if he starts or comes off the bench as long as he gets minutes!!! I'm sure he would be starting next season anyways...

Jeez if this guy gets traded, I'm definitely rooting for that team!

    Pick him up New Jersey!

I'm more of a player fan rather than a team fan anyways... When I see talent, I admire it and I would idolize that player til his career is over...

Ok let's get this straight, I think all of us here agree about this...

The Heat is a better team than last season's pathetic record because Dwayne Wade is healthy!

The Heat is chasing the fourth spot in the East because of Wade!

Spoelstra is getting credit because of Wade! I always believe that good coaches make their players better and not the other way around...

Everyone in Miami are actually hoping of another strong performance in the East because of Wade!

The MVP race has now been a three way dance because of Wade!

If the Cavs hadn't become so good because of Mo, Wade would have been the undisputed MVP!

Wade and Bron are neck to neck in the position of being the best player in the league!

The Heat is nothing without Wade!

Wade is THE BEST SG in the league!

Every play in Miami runs through Wade's hands and he can create from there whether he goes all the way or pass...

The Heat is nothing without Wade! And yes he will win another title for Miami because he is THAT DAMN GOOD! And yes he will whip Atlanta's a$$ in the playoffs no matter if they get the 4th or 5th spot!

Just pass the damn ball to Wade and he will win ball games for you and that piece of cr*p coach Spoelstra can sit and do nothing in the bench and get the credit for making Miami a contender in the East this season!

And yes... I'am rooting for Miami because of Dwayne Wade and Michael Beasley!!!

Awts. I thought this is all about the Miami Heat and not about a player only. Interesting.

But I'm with you bro, Udonis Haslem is playing harder and harder so that he won't lose his starting job to Beasley.

For sure yeah. But I'll take 4-3 for Atlanta.

First things first, the Heat better hold on to that 5th spot right now because the race for the last four seeds is tightening.
