coolpix s1 is 5MP... not that it matters a lot but, it really looks cheap and easy to break.

canon and konica has the 5D
im sure there are more...

canon gyud palita bro if you are from cebu kay they have the best repair service, just ask any newspaper fotographers unsa ilang cam, 90 % ana is canon because of just that! But canon gani, nothing less than the powershot nya unta powershot pro gyud, u will be using it for years and dili mabitin imong shots vs the 300D ug 350D, gamay pa gyud ang size. Kana kung enthusiast gyud ka, but kung pinaka ordinary user ra ka, you will be looking for a very portable and simple one in the future.
best optics sa mga cameras are schnieder(kodak), carl zeiss(sony), nikon, canon then kanang uban like pentax, olympus and minolta. But why canon ang akong gi suggest? total combination and especially customer service. plus there is actually very little quality difference sa shots ana nila that can be attributed to optics.
powershot pro bai, the best sa mga P/S cams.

go with the cannon or nikon. avoid samsung , lately the samsung digimax a7 katong 7 megapixel is a piece of crap. noboby should sell cameras in the market that has an exposure problem.
