yeah..we live for that motto already
being poor is a sin, this one of the biggest acts of omission. god gave us complete use of our faculties, so there is no reason why we should be poor. i am not anti-poor but if you will observe the poor people in our country, they are lazy, contented & immerese themselves in those stupid telenovelas. because they are poor, it doesn not give them the right to imagine & dream day in & day out & let time pass. that's why they remain poor & miserable until their dying day. on the other hand, there is also no excuse in being filthy rich through evil means such as oppressing, cheating other people, being shrewd, being a miser & selfish. there should be balance or we should at least try.
sige palit og sigarilyo og bino dayon wala d i ikapalit og bugas. onsaon.
mao, mo adto pa sa buwangan, pusta pa masiao, duwa video carrera, inom sa karaoke stands, ang uban mo-suyop pa ug shabu. mao nay pobre? mo baligya pa gyud sa ilang ballota, samot ka LKK ug way asenso. try to observe most (but not all though) living in the squatters area. they have more or less the same lifestyles. tsk²! sometimes it just serves them right
so much for the poor being blessed.Originally Posted by LytSlpr
no it is not a sin my friend. it is a result of an imbalance that the society has. have we asked ourselves why these people behave the way that they do? crime, gambling, alcoholism, certain disregard for the immediate future... have even fathomed why they are like this in the first place? and why the majority of the population in this country is such?
if poverty were a sin... then the rich will become the saints in heaven and the poor will burn in eternity.
again, poverty is but a result of a condition that the people are in. we must bear in mind that the human dispositions are also malleable and are subject to apathy, hopelessness and lack of the sense of self worth the very same way that it can breed courage, determination and hope.
to limit our viewpoint and just see the current state of poverty in this country of ours as a mere result of the laziness and sloth of these people, is to practically say that these people do not have the capacity to strive day in and day out for that meager amount of income they take home everyday.
yes, many of them are lazy. yes, many of them have this "walang pakialam" mentality. yes, they practically have telenovelas for dinner every night... the question is, why is this "sub-culture" of poverty being continued and even encouraged? how many telenovelas are there? how many politicials will dole out money to these people every election? and how many druglords/politicians would use them as channels for their illegal trade? how many times have they been used by govenrment propaganda and later thrown out in the sides as if they were filth?
could we honestly blame them that their outlook in life is this bleak when everywhere they go, they see things that they know they can never have... everywhere they go, they have that stigma of being poor, hence not being taken seriously since "dili edukado"... everthing they do to at least live decently is bamboozled by the utter corruption that is plastered in each and every wall of their little barong-barongs?
it is a sad fact that we dare separate ourselves from these people just because of our economic standing. it seems now that we want to place the economic standing of a person as the judge of his/her character. what a shame.
“What we call chaos is just patterns we haven't recognized. What we call random is just patterns we cant decipher. What we can't understand we call nonsense. What we can't read we call gibberish.” - Chuck Palahniuk
It is a SIN, open your bible. It doesn't also necessarily mean that the rich are the saints. Being poor is not imposed on a person, it's the path that he choose. Define poor... AFAIK, minimum wage incomed workers or slightly even less can still live a decent life (at least not in a pigsty) in this country. As long as a person works he is not poor, his spirits makes him such. This is not also about separating ourselves from them because of economic standing, it is about defining their economic standing for the sake of an objective discussion. This does not mean that we understand or accept them less.
It is very basic, if a person won't work or work hard enough he will always be poor, plain and simple. Circumstance, the rich, the government, or even luck etc. are not major factors in shaping ones future or destiny, the great factor is the power within you. The problem with most of us is we always find someone or something to blame on. We always forget that we have a choice. That's why the poor remain miserable coz they choose to make themselves miserable and there is no one else to blame. This is a fact, try to observe the poor's attitude, outlook hence the lifestyle of the poor in 3rd world countries or people living in the slums and ghettos in very progressive countries. The bottomline is nobody drives a person to be poor and miserable but himself, not anyone, not a previous experience, not even the culture that he was born with, not anything. Most of the time, we create our own obstacles, hindrances or aet backs in life. If they allowed themselves to be oppressed or whatever, it was also their choice. There's just no excuse. Life is about choices, we just hope and pray that we make the right ones.
Let us dismiss the idea that the Rich wants the Poor to remain poor or even poorer because when you come to think of it, poor people will become a liability to the Rich people's process in getting richer. The Rich people doesn't deliberately want poor people to be such, they are just being blamed.
In this case, it is wiser to look into and assess each tree rather than looking at the whole forest.
BTW, this is not about getting rich, this is about not being poor.

I'm very sorry sire but the premise or tilte goes this way
PHILIPPINE MOTTO, POOR GETS POORER, RICH GET RICHER and that includes me and you,
may be the first thing to know is how we look at the word "poor" and "rich", and how this words defined, whats the meaning of this, in short how we loot at it as word and prase, is that really true that we filipino had this motto,
form your word:

I htink to dismiss this is not wise because i didnot agree that, that is my motto, i'm a filipino since birth, then the prhases includes me. I will not agree
I think ther's a long jump here happening, as window of view
It is said also in the bible the to have *** with the same *** is sin(will you agree with me?) therefore people jump to the conclusion that being a queer is sin, but less they give crit the lisbians, thats not the point there, it is not how the face value,
being a gay alone is not a sin, nor a lisbian, but to having *** with same *** will make the both parties sinner, not the being is the sin the doings how they did but being a gay i did not found sin or guilt there as being gay,
same point i have to imposed, with the phrase, FILIPINO MOTTO, POOR GET..........
i dis agree with that,
from my own experience, i'm from a very very low level of family may be in class Z. but, i got a job now(i'm talking regarding the richness of money how i increase)
and people trusts me now even banks but before people knew me as a poor boy;
in knowledge= before i didnot know how to type even in the mechanical typewriter, but then now i knew computer, i even knew how to fixed it, thats in knowledge, with that proof alone i did not believe the premise are true and correct it will not apply to me, and i knew even on your own. lastly niadto dili ko kamao ininglis karon kamao na, sayop lang grammar. ahh basta maninglish k na.
this is very idealistic of you but dont you see?Originally Posted by FrecieBar
