It gives you goosebumps and chills in your body simply because you lack proper understanding of celestial/orbital mechanics and basic astronomy. Those in the know will simply chuckle.
This is my answer. I personally think nothing globally cataclysmic will happen in 2012. However, if something does happen, it will be caused by something totally unrelated to all this Nostradamus hogwash.
If you want to worry, worry about MN4 Apophis in April 2029 or 2036.

Only real global threat to Earth is man. Apophis in 2029 might get people's panties in a knot.
April 13th 2029 and April 13th 2036 are both Fridays....... hmmmm creepy...
lets wait and see...if its happen so be it....
amen to all those who made a comment on this thread. well we can't please everyone.
it just so happens there some basic truth about his predictions. his predictions were not merely on explanation on the extinction of earth but rather extinction of man because of self-made disasters (junks/garbage, improper waste disposals, smoke belching etc. to name a few)
what it really explained there was only about man's doings to earth that could make or break the date in 2012. unless we change ourselves and prepare, that's the choice we were left to.
i chose to listen. i believe God but He never made me an idiot, just doing nothing.

Listening is good. But, since people have the freedom of choice on whom to listen to, more often than not, they listen to the WRONG people.
Scientists have warned time and time again, even waaay before the Kyoto Agreement, about the negative effects and direct impact of human activity (i.e. increase of greenhouse gases, pollution, etc.) on earth. Yet, most people (like the people in these boards) get BORED with science--people constantly seek excitement. Now, I've been observing this fact for some time now--the more immature you are, the more you tend to seek excitement.
If you need a Nostradamus (exciting person isn't he? More exciting than some boring environmentalist huh?) to tell you that the earth is in peril, then it only reflects what sort of person you are.
