"Lesaca said that the case could also be solved if the ownership of the composition would be established. He also hoped that Granada registered his work in the National Library, which would strengthen his claims of ownership. “Gary is a respected composer and he knows how to protect his rights. If he did his due diligence, he will have a certificate from the National Library showing that his work was created earlier than the one used by GMA Network.”

In a letter sent to FILSCAP dated Feb. 5, 2009, Dick B. Perez, network vice president for legal affairs, said: “The music was composed by another member of FILSCAP, Ms Charo Unite … GMA accepted the composition of Ms Unite in good faith... Thus, the matter is really a dispute between two of your members, which FILSCAP should therefore look into.”
Granada on Tuesday protested that the other composer was not the issue. He insisted that, in producing the jingle, the network allowed the other composer access to his study tape.
