    Default restrict software installation?


    mga boss tanong ko lang po, paano po ba i.set ang pc ko para hindi basta.basta makapag install ng softwares/programs ang ibang users nito other than me.

    hmm... lot of considering to take in... especially in Domain side... just study group policy local and domain. take note that this will not count on portable applications, via portable hard drives... this was my nightmare before...especially if you dealing IT guys in the office...where they LOVE to BREAK the RULES!

    and maybe you want to use a software that monitors the running applications
    some programs(mostly games) don't need to be installed

    usually, i do this by using pslist \\host -u "domain\admin" -p "password" then killing unwanted applications hehehehe...

    I use
    ps <parameter> | grep -i <application>
    kill <pid>

    to terminate application in Linux.

    for windows your best bet is to make use with group policy built into it...

    Thumbs up restrict software installation?

    Pwede i daan mo sa Group Policy kung naka Domain ka and make sure na yung Local Administrator Account nang workstation ay naka Password Protected at ikaw lang ang nakaalam nang Local Administrator Password. pero kung Stand alone lang similar setup pero ikaw ang mag a add nang user and make sure na hindi mo bigyan nang administrative rights para hindi siya pwede maka install nang kung ano anong software unless kung ang administrator account ang naka login.

    IMO, I'm comfortable with "Group policy" but I never fail to ensure that only me knows the admin password.
