wa man matagak or nabasa. nag-error lang gyud. I've searched the web and there are so many cases. Most of them were recovered using PC Inspector Smart Recovery or some other software. I ran PC Inspector for 4 days non-stop but it was only able to read 4% of the sectors and recovered none.

It hit me that if after 4 days the software was only able to recover 4%, then it would take 100 days for it to read the entire card. Even then, there is no assurance that it can actually recover all or some of the pictures.

I have made peace with what pestilence made my card corrupt but I hope that nothing like this would ever happen again.

I wish that corruption would be limited to the Senate, Lower House and Malacañanag only.

a lot of report on this reg 2gb and 4gb ridata...other sizes seem to be reliable...

what i do to prevent this from happening
(in all my years as a professional digital photographer this has never happened to me)

1) buy original branded cards that is 100% tested and fully supported by the camera.
it doesnt have to be sandisk coz they are super expensive and really doesnt offer assurance.
2) i change cards every two year or so...card wears out too like tires in your car...madaan na siya...it has finite number of read and write cycles...
3) use a NEWER reliable card reader 2.0 or firewire reader...new card...newer card reader....old card readers can cause problem with newer cards....
4) format card in the camera before you start shooting...never delete from the camera...just shoot away...select later in the computer...
5) battery should be working properly, if problematic, buy new ones...if low battery, dont force it...swap with fresh ones or stop shooting.
6) never open door bay for the card when write/read led is flashing...and wait for the flashing to stop before turning the camera off...
or do it my way i just never turn the camera off in the field...camera goes to sleep mode automatically after a few secs or a min.
