as i said we can't define good without the existence of the bad stuff. what's the use of those big buildings where we take refuge (churches) when there aint no one to hide to because evil don't exist...
it's a gift... it makes life interesting and challenging... we communicate... we compete... we fail and succeed... all because there is 1 very important factor that balances everything... the darkside of nature.

hell yeah!!!
or perhaps evil (and good) is but a mere concept that the human psyche invented for him to better understand the universe, labelling those which are detrimental to his existence "evil" and those beneficial for him as "good".
perhaps there is no evil, or even good for that matter, intrinsically speaking. perhaps the concept of evil whose definitions and applications is different person, society, culture, or species for that matter. perhaps there is no such thing as morals as it may be just a/n (mal)adaptive mechanism that humanity brought about from his unconcious to set as a pattern or a code of conduct on how one must live a life.
perhaps the bifurcation and the contradictory concepts that we see very well are but illusions that our collective minds sets up, eyeglasses that are suppose to show us a bigger picture of the universe.
perhaps the concept of good and evil (and the personifications of these concepts that humanity has practically accepted as truth) exists only in our minds; a tool we use in our everyday existence to be supposedly discarded later when we expire. perhaps the concepts of good and evil are concepts that only apply to us because we are alive... perhaps they are not really that universal as the concept of what is good and what is evil is basically unknown to non-sentient beings.

(we are still in the progressing stage to making our own god)
the intellegence of man cannot decipher the true nature of God!
we can try but never will succeed..
QUESTION:
How can someone who is perfect have the product of imperfection?
exactly!!! i salute you gareb!!!Originally Posted by gareb

i think evil existed to test our faith in the Almighty and we all know He is the beginning and the end, the alpha and the sigma so He really meant it to exist and it has a purpose. You and I and everything around us exist for the purpose of doing what they are meant to do. evil existed for us men to be able to differentiate what is wrong and what is right. it's purpose is to set a boundary between good and evil. He made it to contradict what is right for us to be able to see what is wrong.![]()
JawBreaker: glad we could agree at one point!we all do the ass-kicking!
this is a presumption based on another (existence of god, description as absolute and all-powerful= accepted)Originally Posted by Idz®
yet still, if we cannot decipher the true nature of god, then why do we know that he exists in the first place? isn't that a presumption of the true nature of his existence in a holistic perspective?
and why are we trying earnest then to prove that he does and to teach the tenets that he supposedly gave us? isnt that sort of a punch to the moon if we are to assume that we can never really understand his true nature? why engae in sheer futility when you now for a fact that pursuing that course is in vain?
the existence of evil or the concept and the things referred to as evil, are in themselves, an abberation, a glitch, a chink in the armor of perfection and absolutism. the logic of "perfection cannot breed imperfection" is a red light that perhaps the object that we give perfection as due is not really perfect after all.
