Bali man experience nako ug sa ubang manakyay ug taxi.

    What the hell!

Vios, Echo, Altis, Revo, Inova, etc.

Yes i'm one of the image conscious. Before my parents bought me a car they let me choose a car manufacturer from Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota and Honda.
Ako gpili kay Honda then my friends keeps on asking me why Honda then I answered "you can't see Honda taxi's" and also it's the easiest car that you can modify because of the availability of its parts. Lawgaw lang kau na biktima ako car sa Yassci Yelgit Auto Shop and Service Center Inc. kay basta taas kau istorya. just check this thread => https://www.istorya.net/forums/automo...beware-mo.html

Nowadays, I dont mind owning a car that was made into a taxi by others. Look on the bright side: since they made it a taxi, many spare parts are available. Meaning, your unit will have lower maintenance cost.

Also, as long as my car is paid, i am a proud owner be it a kia avella, hyundai, corolla, vios or a Sentra.

I was looking for a Toyota Corolla pero Nissan Sentra ang miduol nako. Wala gyud koy mahay sa Nissan Sentra ug nagpasalamat ra pud ko kay lig-on man diay ni ug makina ug parts ang Nissan Sentra. Gidungog man nga kalas ni sya sa fuel pero na proven nako nga dili na tinuod, in fact mao nuon ang pinaka fuel efficient beyond your imagination sa tanang sakyanan in its class kung kahibalo ka unsaon ug improve. Sayon ra pud ma improve bisan during that time di kaayo ko familiar ug car systems.

From what I know it was part of Honda's marketing gimmick when it entered the PHilippine market in early 90's. Sa wala pay HOnda cars sa Pilipinas and Toyota was the number 1 in market share, bisan bag-o nga model himoong taxi way problema. No ristrictions. Pag sulod sa HOnda lain sila ug marketing. It was just purely gimmick nga gisakyan sa mga consumers and Honda was quite surprised nga ni pick up ug maayo ang ilang sales kay tinuod gusto man gyud ang Pinoy ug magpa tahur ba in the eyes of other people. I should know because I bought a brand new civic ESI model in 1994. But, there's a very big but. Ang corolla nga nitapad nimo daghang taxi version nga nagdagan-dagan. So the feeling is very different. (bisan pareho ra gud unta kay pareho man nga brand new). The rest is history kay ni click ang marketing strategy sa Honda and there after, gisubay nalang sad sa ubang competitor.

i dont agree na honda is no. 1. just check the ratio lang. imagine nalng... 1 family cant have 5 different honda vhicles, generally speaking, but 1 taxi company can have 100 toyota cars. being no.1 is just like like what you see or hear in the commercials.. wala jud no.2, puro jud no.1. whether it be channels, food, clothing. wa jud no.2. hehehe anyways, going back to taxis... i think dli mo matter if naa taxi pareha imo car kay its not the car that makes it look good. its the driver by the way i own a honda and a toyota.. how come it doesnt make me rich when im driving my honda? and it doesnt make me a taxi driver when im driving my vios. well, so far im still me...

So naghunahuna uroy ning uban nga dili taxi ilang sakyanan regardless sa brand or class? pareho ra na tanan, gigamit to transport yourself from one place to another. hehehe - taxi. Karon unsay huge difference ani nila?

Cars being turned into taxis lower its image..Are filipinos too image conscious?

Some of us filipinos are infact very image conscious indeed. It's true that others will choose a Honda instead of a Toyota because the latter brand has models turned into taxis here in the Phils.

But for me, owning a Toyota doesn't make one feel inferior. For instance a Toyota Camry is a very, very nice ride & it will surely make you proud owning one, so it's not the brand. As for the model of a particular brand, it doesn't matter to me either coz i would choose a Toyota Altis model G over a Honda Civic VTI.

"I guess, other people are blinded by the Ads these giant companies are bombarding thru the media, that's why some are brand conscious. To say it bluntly, it's all about marketing strategy."

Choose wisely & be practical, it won't hurt you.
