Flagrant foul results in Wallace's fractured rib, collapsed lung
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace suffered a partially collapsed left lung and a fractured rib late in the team's double-overtime victory against the Los Angeles Lakers, team officials said Wednesday.
Wallace scored 15 points before a flagrant foul by Andrew Bynum knocked him to the floor with 2:08 left in the fourth quarter of Tuesday night's game, which the Bobcats won 117-110.

A statement from the Bobcats said Wallace was taken off the floor and underwent X-rays at Staples Center. Preliminary results were inconclusive, prompting Lakers team physicians to arrange a second examination.
The statement said Wallace had 30 to 40 percent of his left lung collapse as well as a non-displaced fracture of the fifth rib. The team said Wallace underwent a CT scan at Centinela Hospital in Los Angeles, and had a chest tube inserted into the lung to help restore full function.
Wallace was to remain in the hospital for the next 48 hours for observation and did not accompany the team to Portland for Wednesday night's game against the Trail Blazers.
Team spokesman B.J. Evans said there was no immediate indication on when Wallace would rejoin the team, or even when he would return to Charlotte. Evans said there also had been no decision Wednesday afternoon as to who would replace Wallace in the starting lineup against Portland.
In 41 games this season, the 6-foot-7 Wallace was averaging 16.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game for the Bobcats, who beat the Lakers for the fifth time in their past six games against each other. Charlotte's victory was just its sixth on the road against 13 losses.
Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 38 points before fouling out for the first time this season in the final minute of the first overtime.
The Lakers are 4-5 overall against the Bobcats, who joined the NBA as an expansion team in 2004.

HoopsHype - Interviews - Jason Kidd: "I would like to play until I'm 40"
Kidd should be shipped to Cleveland or the Lakers if he wants a ring. He won't win a ring in Dallas even if he'll play until he's 40.

Rumor: Could Sixers deal Andre Miller?
If the 76ers don't think they can re-sign point guard Andre Miller this summer, they might look to deal him prior to the trade deadline.
Doing so would prevent Philadelphia from losing Miller without getting anything in return. General manager Ed Stefanski has been in contact with agent Andy Miller about the situation.
"I don't think we stand anywhere other than right on the fence," Andy Miller said. "We've had exploratory conversations about a possible extension. We've had conversations with [the Sixers] about what his trade value will be and we've had conversations with them about what would transpire this summer – what their interests would be, what our interests would be.
"We've kind of run the gamut in terms of covering every possible scenario, but no scenario seems to be forging forward with any great urgency right now over the other ones."
Philadelphia is 21-22, and currently sits in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
