here in the philippines, hell no!!! It's ridiculous to watch bong revilla trying to crack down piracy in our country. Our radio stations are not even paying "royalties" to the artists and it's label, so why try to stop piracy. Even america can't totally control it.

.......mao gyud, ang CD-R karon kay tag 15 pesos/cd and DVR-R kay tag 25, unsa on na lang. and the quality is just the same compared to the original.....................when we burn download mp3 files and burn it are we considered a pirate?? if so, then i am. bwhehhehe.

There is no stopping progress, and for once, progress is working AGAINST the big corporations and is in favor of the artist(and consumers).
Did the Film Industry FIGHT Television when television could give FREE entertainment? Did the big corporations win the legal battles against makers of casette recorders and VCRs? Nope. They learned to deal with progress.
Only the big record companies/distributors are being ruined. Artists should see the Internet as an opportunity to get their music to as many people as possible without having to whore themselves to executives or to spend a fortune in mass production and distribution.

And personally, the reason that record sales are low is that most of what mainstream companies are dishing out are crap. Personally, I download songs that I CAN'T FIND in record stores because they sell only the stuff that make it to the Billboard Charts (sort of a stupid paradox, don't you think?)
Boybands and Dumb Blondes are only put out to sell clothes and other merchandise anyway, so **** them.
