    How to Get There
There are three ways to get to the Camotes islands from Cebu:
    1. Take the fast craft from Pier 1 in Cebu located at the back of Plaza Independencia and only 10 minutes away from the city center. A ticket costs P270. The ride takes two hours. Ferry schedule changes depending on the weather. Call them to confirm schedule. Tel. 032/ 255 7767.
    2. Take a boat from Danao Pier. First, travel by land from Cebu City to Danao. If you take a jeepney, it will take about one hour. The jeepney fare costs P20. Get down at Danao City Pier in front of Danao City Church. The boat leaves twice a day, at 6am and 10am.
    3. Take a pump boat from Mandaue City (Ouano Wharf), near Sports Complex. The boat leaves at 5am and the ride takes four hours. A ticket costs P200.

    Where to Stay
Santiago Bay Garden & Resort is the largest resort on Santiago Beach. It offers air-conditioned rooms with cable TV, refrigerator, and hot and cold shower and has a restaurant serving Filipino food. The resort sits on a cliff so you have a hillside view of the beach below. The family room is good for six people and costs P4000. A triple occupancy room costs P3,000. Standard non-aircon rooms go for P500 for two persons while standard air-con rooms costs P1,000 for two persons. A van is also available for going around the island. Check out CAMOTES RESORTS - Welcome to Our Beautiful Island. Email reservation@camotesresorts.com.ph. Phone 032/ 420 3385. Visit booking office at 263 Rizal Street, Estancia, Mandaue City, Cebu.

Payag Beach House and Resort is located right on Santiago Beach, with the water just a few steps away. The non air-con rooms cost P700 while air-conditioned rooms cost P1,000 or P1,200. It has only six rooms sharing two communal bathrooms. Rooms have queen-sized beds. Tel. 032/ 233 1158. Mobile 0917/ 623 4461.

Masamayor’s Beach House and Resort has a total of nine rooms. It’s structured like a beachcomber’s nook — with open-air dining and hangout area on the top floor and rooms below this deck. All rooms have private toilets. A room with two double beds and TV costs P1,600. More rooms are available in the house behind the main resort. Tel. 032/ 414 6015. Mobile 0917/ 832 6266. Email camotesislandresort@yahoo.com. Surf www.camotesislandresort.com.

White View Beach Resort is the newest resort on Santiago Beach, being less than a year old. It has non air-con rooms with a balcony (P700); air-conditioned rooms with double beds (P1,200) are on the ground floor. Mobile 0918/ 492 0689. ?

These resorts have vans of their own. When you call for reservations, ask about van rental as well.

    Enjoy Camotes!

    places to visit:

lake danao (san francisco) - kayak and fishing. you can have your lunch there, have your catch cooked and eat it sa kiosk. entrance is P15 (i think), fishing is per kilo (P150/kl).

bukilat cave (tudela) - picture taking and swimming (make sure you'll go there during high tide). entrance is P10 (i think). no carenderia in the vicinity.

boho beach resort (poro) - swimming. entrance P2 (if the caretaker is around or else you go free). no carenderia in the vicinity. always high tide...hehe. watch out for sea snakes.

santiago beach resort (san francisco) - very very nice sand beach but not much fun if low tide if you like swimming in deep water. other activities: snorkeling, beach volleyball, frisbee (bring your own frisbee. teehee), sandcastle making (or something like that), etc., etc.

mangodlong beach resort (san francisco) - swimming. room rates: a bit higher than santiago's.

quarry (altavista, poro) - highest peak in camotes. good for hiking. entrance: i don't know. haven't been there lately.

kawit resort (pilar) - another island (still part of camotes). pumpboat ride from tudela pier (around 30 mins) for P500 (pumpboat rent) or P50 per person. nice stretch of sand. entrance: no idea.

if itinerary not enough, you can go around camotes for a day. there's a trail that connects san francisco, tudela, poro.
