sure, i'll find time to take good pics for you especially you to see, hehehe. The male anuran (frog/toad) has an enlarged pollux(kumagko) this is used to grab on to the female during amplexus (frog mating). generally females are distinctively larger than males.

can u sell me a pair of chorus froglets? i want to put them at my garden.

  4. #14
ok, here are things you'd have to consider with Chorus froglets, these are burrowing frogs so if it does not rain you'll not be seeing nor hearing them for most of the time they stay under crevices and pots (anywhere cool). also becoz they are tiny frogs (adults bout the size of a peso coin) you wont be able to keep them totally in you compound / garden, they just might find their way out. Breeding for this is relatively easy though coz a pair would usually go together and sleep in one crevice.

i took this pic in ormoc. it had the loudest croak ive heard (i found it hard to believe that that croak came from this frog) ..... i planned to keep it but then i decided not to. u know what frog this is?

No other than the most common "Cane toad" Its not a frog but a toad. mao na cya ang naay hilo (mura ug gatas) known as Bufotoxin (from its scientific name Bufo marinus). This picture answers maia's inquiry. If you try to have a closer look you'll see that this toad has a darkened first digit (pollux) and might even be enlarged...a simple indicator that this right here is a male and at this point in time, it is calling for a mate. This is quite easy to keep as well and they also make good pets as they relatively eat almost anything you offer. They even eat dogfood. One problem though is that they breed profusely. A female would be a very good pet specimen as they really grow big. I used to have two of those large toads namely Buffy and marina......no joke...i did name them those
