Few days ago, my co-worker told me that there was an applicant (identity witheld) for a nursing position (telemetry). That most of my co-workers laughed at and even "labeled" that person as "nutty". To make the long story short, on the reference section that person wrote GOD as personal reference. Is it wrong or not? Appropriate or not? Should be included or not?

If anyone knows who applied for a job, your resume should be factual records. Correct? like when your "employer" needs to contact your references to know if you are legit. That person was hired but not because of personal reference but the person's qualifications. Few days past, the person quit because of shame.

For what specific reason? Shame that she wrote GOD as her personal reference? She should be proud of it that GOD was her BOSS!

reference - from the root word refer
refer -to direct for information or anything required

inappropriate ra kaau since you cannot squeeze information from God when you're applying. so i'd say sayop ni cya sa nag apply. basin nasayop lang nya ug sabot ang meaning sa reference.

I think he is right IN THE WRONG WAY.

In the applicant's perspective, he might think it is his prerogative to put anything in his CV; in this instance he is correct because it is his legal right.

In the employer's perspective, the reference is only a tertiary aspect of the CV (primary - personal circumstances; secondary - education and achievements; tertiary - references, declaration, others). Although some names in the CV were impertinent [such as naming a dead person, a hero, a name of a street, etc], it shall be taken as a symptom showing the degree of seriousness of an applicant's intent or aspiration. When someone put "God" as one of his references, it may also be understood as an incomplete information given in the CV because there is a tendency that he might be referring to a popular local politician or public figure whose name is "God" [short for Goding].

Experience in the academe shows that the "Noy Amon" in the CV shall be taken as incomplete information because the applicant wanted the employer to assume that the "Noy Amon" was the popular "Don Ramon Durano" of Danao in the 1970s.
