* Battery charges with the built-in solar panels on the face of the watch. Even fluorescent light can charge the internal battery. Battery rated for 10+ years. On full charge, G-shock solar batteries usually last 7 months without exposure to light.
** Atomic watches are so precise they only gain 1 sec after millions of years. Atomic G-Shocks are technically not atomic but they are able to synchronize with atomic time transmitters. That means you don't have to reset your watch from time to time. It's a fact that watches (quartz or automatic) gain/loose fractions of a second every day. In a month they can gain/loose as much as 30 secs. That's why you need to reset your watches. But with atomic, your watch can sync itself from atomic clocks around the world so you'll always have the correct time every time.
Casio's Nomenclature on their atomic watches
Atomic/Waveceptor - Only syncs with Either Japan or US
Multiband-X - Syncs with X number of stations
- eg Multiband-3 syncs with US and 2 from Japan
Multiband-5 syncs with US, UK, Germany and 2 from Japan
Multiband-6 syncs with all of the above plus China
Here in Pinas we can sync from China and one of the two (TPE) in Japan. The TPE-Japan signal is weaker though. But I was able to sync at least once in a week with it. Heck, even once a month of syncing is enough. With the China transmitter, my Riseman auto-syncs with it almost every day.
