Default Virtualbox on Ubuntu with Guest OS XP

if ever there are similar threads than these or in a wrong section, please mods delete it.

Anyways, I want to ask for help guys on how to work the network connections on guest OS XP to get the host network interface so that the virtual guest OS can have internet connection with the Host OS (Ubuntu)?

And also, how can a virtual OS XP can access the hardwares on the Host OS (Ubuntu) in VIrtualbox?

Any configurations or tutorials regarding on these?

    Thanks!

For the networking, try to use NAT settings.

For the hardware, I have problems in connecting to the USB.

unfortunately, most hardware cannot be access directly, except for few, like serials ports... while LAN and USB are virtualized...

anyway, just install the additions/tools to speed things up on the virtual machine..

I also had problems accessing my usb devices in virtual box. But I think you need to configure the usb proxy thingy to make it work. Still havent figured out how to make it work though. I think networking should work out of the box...
