Benadryl and Iterax belong to the first generation na mga anti allergy, sa mga dermatologist they prescribed this drug before bed time etake, kay for maka duka jud ni sila.. Karun Iterax is given napud at higher dose para substitute sa sleeping pills..
Ceterizine (Zyrtec) and Loratadine (Claritin, Allerta) belongs to second generation na anti allergy.
Virlix molecule belongs to UCB, means Zyrtec and Virlix have the same molecule.
Levoceterizine (Xyzal) and Disloratadine (Aerius) and Fexofenadine (Telafast) belongs to the 3rd Generation anti allergy, they are more potent than the 2nd generation anti allergy, so far UCB maker of Xyzal conducted head to head studies between this 3 new anti allergies drug, Xyzal is far more superior than Aerius and Telfast. (Gillard et al Inflamm Res.)
About the duka2x side effects, depende na ni sa imu lawas pag dawat sa tambal, naay mga taw na sensitive to the molecule of the drug mao ng dukaon ka.
You could try different brands, pili lang kung asa ka hiyang..
@wak_wak: thank you for the information. this sure helps.
wlay gamit ang mga anti-allergy meds if ikaw mismo nag cge kaon na maka grabe sa allergy nimo...
katong ako nag ka allergy claritin man but wla jud oi... daghan ang gipabawal nako na food oi halos tanan foods...
common practice of my co workers and friends, take one tablet xyzal one hour before eating the food you like na you knew allergy ka..
kinsa nag bawal nimu sa food? unsa imu doctor? allergologist? if not then pa consult jud ka sa allergologist, para ma determine kung what food jud ang bawal nimu, kay luoy pud ka kung halos tanan food bawal nimu. Kay professor kapp told us in one of his lecture, kay some doctors mag cge ug bawal ug food na dili diay necessary..
pero try kuno xyzal then higher dose, maybe 10mg, mao man ni usually buhaton sa amo mga dermatologist na doctors, take it an hour before ka mu eat..
basta mga anti-histamine..... insult ur doctor.... ai consult ur konductor para sure....
Xyzal is just an isomer of Zyrtec (cetirizine), and works no better than Zyrtec. The only difference? The price, of course. In the US, Zyrtec became an over-the-counter drug recently, drastically dropping down its price. Brand Xyzal and Brand Zyrtec don't work ANY BETTER than generic cetirizine. In fact, in an independent US study, Xyzal was shown to be the only isomer in the market that is slightly inferior to the original compound, Zyrtec. Sorry kaayo wak_wak ha, nag yawyaw ko dire. Drug companies need to make money to recoup their investments, I know that. Maglagot lang ko aning mga doctor, gapalami prescribe ug Xyzal when they know it is so ridiculously expensive, nga naa man unta barato ra kaayo nga OTC nga pareha ra ug effectivity. Patient care man unta ilang unang concern. The prescribing patterns of some doctors (not all, ok) are a joke! Everytime gani naay mogawas nga new brand drug, of an already old compound that has a generic, magkatawa nalang ko kay ang mga doctor atat kaayo mo prescribe sa new brand, nevermind the astronomical price. It's as if they've forgotten their medical education, nakalimot sila nga bisan new brand, pareha ra man intawon na ug active ingredient oi. Murag na brainwash sila sa drug companies sa ilang mga seminar nga naay pakapin nga free lunch in a fancy restaurant.
This is my pet peeve. Don't believe all the crap your doctor tells you. Be aware.
The latest marketing ploy of drug companies is to introduce "isomers" of parent compounds, slap them with a new brand name, tout them as "superior" than the original compound, and charge you an arm and a leg for it, because they know you don't know any better.
This goes for all "isomers" out there, just as a caveat:
cetirizine vs. levocetirizine
loratadine vs. desloratadine
citalopram vs. escitalopram
venlafaxine vs. desvenlafaxine
etc etc etc
