@dj-dark: I guess that's the price of being a photographer - getting dirtyOh, so that's what
a 200 mm lens looks like. So those used by National Geographic are certainly in the thousand mm range?
@harvz86: My apologies to choui168. At least now I know his proper nick. It is an expensive hobby,
no doubt and I really researched last Sunday and yesterday what to buy because I'm no richie and I decided on a Canon EOS 450D which unfortunately I'd only have time to pick up on Saturday so I can't join you guys on Sunday, I don't want to fumble about with the settings and samot dili ko ganahan mugamit automatic. I'll just lurk and find out when you're shooting as a group next.
A pro photog recommended I get a Canon 85mm f/1.8 prime next since I'm not into landscapes (after toys I want to shoot people especially like those sitting on alucard_x's lap).
By the way, I'm curious, when people say "Welcome to the dark side?" - are they referring to the
Nikon or Canon brand?
^^good choice...
most national geograaphic photogs used 400-600 focal range.....thousand?thats already astro photography, which i saw a 5000mm canon lens..pero dili na nimo ma dala2x bisan asa due to its size..
darkside? nikonians na.
nice na lage ni rn ang photography nga field....

@carlo
Finally its long overdue na gyud it's time to RIP your P&S and Welcome the world of DSLR... Warning: this hobby is much more expensive than action figure Toys(although some refer to this gadget as their "toys"), specially if you will be bitten by this syndrome GAS(Gear Acquiring Syndrome)
Congrats!!!! kuyog nya ta sa mga masters diri...
FYI man siguro ni: they call Nikon as the "dark side" coz of the color sa ilang lens nga mostly black(except to some special edition ones) compared to canon nga most lens are white...
@harvz86: lol! lingawa ato bangko sayang gi initan lang hahahaha!
@petey: watch out next time we shoot. ur face will be all over this thread... bwahahahaha!!!
@cmontoya: u have chosen well young padawanexperiment with your kit lens first, from there you will know what kind of photography you will be interested in. although i'm pretty sure you will still be into toys, which my very own master obi chay kenobi always say make the best models because they never complain no matter how long you make them hold the pose.
ok ra to ang "manyak" nick, worth the laughs. and btw, i get the feeling you will be into model photography seeing the images of girls you grabbed and editedhehehehe
