question about CPU usage and lifespan

when playing certain games, my CPU usage goes up to 80-100%.. It starts to get really hot, and I can feel it because I am on a laptop.. And sometimes I could keep on playing for several hours.
I'm worried if that will cause my system to malfunction or something. Will my system malfunction because of that?

eventually it will. your computer is set to operate with tolerance at certain temperature but if you can keep it down belong the threshold, then your computer will last longer.

first thing you need to know is it excessive heat? or under normal heat temperature.

anything hot can also melt something.
anything hot can do more than just catch fire, it may also explode.

so prolonged *excessive* heat exposure will eventually make one of the laptop's component to fail.
it's just a matter of when.

first, what is "hot" to u? cpu have certain of tolerance to heat, and your motherboard may have this trigger function, your computer may shut down or restart if it gets really hot to avoid further damage.

post your cpu temperature or your system temperature. also, cpu's were actually not designed to be 100% utilized for straight several hours, so even if your temp is within tolerance level, your whole system might suffer very soon..

to answer your question, YES. the usage and the temp will eventually take its toll...

get a laptop cooler to lower the temps. lower temps = longer lifespan, heat is bad thats why we have cooling accessories

yes there are alot of programs.... mr.google can tell you....

with my dell inspiron im using i8kfan < but i believe this utility are for dell laptops.
