Tamblot, I meant the secondary cache settings which uses your RAM. Anyway, you also might want to try updating your motherboard / IDE / chipset drivers.

can you please help me on how to change the secondary cache setting? Reflashing my BIOS is the last option that I'm looking into.

bai, unsa size sa imo RAM, if 512MB try daw change sa imo ultrabuffer to bout 60MB or if 256MB try 35MB sa imo ultrabuffer.
