It's a hybrid video disc. This technology is nothing new but somewhat similar to a hybrid SACD which have been long available to audiophiles.
good- if you don't have the money to buy BD players now but on a market for movies then this will be a good investment since this will be future proof.
bad- if your playing it on a dvd player you wont enjoy the disc's full potential since the resolution will only be @ 480p maximum, that is, if your tv even supports progressive scan but most likely it will only be @ 480i. Bluray movie's can output with a resolution up to 1080p.
