To what I know it is possible through several steps...

first render your project into AVI... then import that AVI file into Flash...

for me i think its not worth it, making 3d models unless u r going for da money or making a profit out of it... -- first , damn rendering, polys, shading, takes lyk forerver --- very big effort for a stupid lookin' 3d ---- i say .. maypa copy nlng sa other sites - or download for free --- der r lots & lots of 3d pre finish model out there -- no sweet! heheheh!

What you should also focus is placing patience in the work you do... 3d Max is a lot of work...

wat version of max 5 are u using? i think that links with ur license file. try dloading max 5.1 it works fine.
