because Jesus the Christ asked him to. if judas hadn't betrayed Jesus, Jesus wouldn't have been arrested. if Jesus hadn't been arrested, he wouldn't have been crucified. if Jesus hadn't been crucified (if he was even crucified at all), he wouldn't have died, risen, ascended, and saved your @$$es of your sins. at least, that's according to Saul of Tarsus.

^then why write a gospel about it? if he was so loyally ready to follow christ's orders, he wouldve just kept his mouth shut.. or his gospel for the matter.. hehe..

firstly, it is never concluded that judas iscariot himself wrote that gospel. i mean, a lot of gospels have been attributed to many apostles but they themselves did not write it, but their followers did. and secondly, it was written so as to let us know a different side of the story. one coming from the most despised man in history. after reading it, i've come to know judas as a sort of hero, because if it wasn't for him, Jesus the Christ wouldn't have been arrested and crucified. the fact of the matter is that, the Gospel of Judas does exist. it won't go away just by ignoring it. and the vatican is not doing a good job by discrediting it.
